Here's what I picture.

A battle belt worn in with J hooks to loops on my saddle. It'll have those so I can just unclip them once my climb is made, where I have preset adjusters on my battle belt, I unclip it and move it up into place to double (triple use really) as my back band.

This would allow me several things!

1) Keep my saddle secured in place during the walk in.
2) MAYBE do away with a pack, at least for one sticking/WE knaider/swaider climbing/Early season.
3) Have a back band but not have to figure out a place to carry it.
4) Give me extra attachment points.

Shoot some holes in this idea before I start buying stuff!

Yes and no sometimes I also use my sling that I carry my sticks with.
I hook it in with my bridge and adjust it for comfort

See you in a tree, Ricky

Are you describing an Aero Evo? ;)
I guess so, yes. Basically. But with the saddle I already have and the belt I already have. I hadn't ever really looked at one til you mentioned it. Might be a nice alternative for someone who already has a saddle and doesn't wanna sell and buy new or look for one somewhere used.

And WAY less complicated. Lol. No leg diapers and in my brain the straps connecting the bottom of the belt to the top of the saddle are not only adjustable but detachable.

Gotcha. My Evo is exactly what I pictured when reading your description. Took me awhile to find effective positioning of dump pouches, etc. However, once I did, I turned into a life-long Evo user.

Now that I look at the evo it is basically the same thing. Its so hard to think of anything "new" nowadays. I just had the backband laying around and wondered how I could put it to good use.

Let me blow your mind here, @Red Beard. Somehow find a way to affix the belt to the saddle in such a way that I can have it be weight bearing but still detachable (I have something in mind...) and make a lineman's belt on it like @DanO did. Run a tree squeeze with that....as I advance up the tree and get to hunting height, all I do is tighten the friction hitch on my TS and detach the BB from the saddle.....back band set.

I doubt it'll work as intended for a tree squeeze and wouldn't actually be life safety...BUT. It wouldn't be any more dangerous than a regular lineman's belt used with the battle belt mod.

Here is what I am using.
