Backpack Build

Looks good. I like kifaru pouches, but those pouches might be a bit noisy. I bought two to try on my saddle and the material was pretty loud. I do like the pouches though. Your pack looks good. Nice job!

Nice work! Love the top opening.

What sort of internal organization and rigid structure (if any) did you build into it?

I’ll take some more pics. 1/4” closed cell foam for side panel structure and 1/16” HDPE frame sheet it the back, I may sway it for 1/8” if I need more rigidity.

What materials did you use and where did you source them? (Especially the stretchy material) I started building my own gear too and looking for a go to source for materials

Looks great man. I like how you did the top opening. I've been brainstorming a a whitetail pack. But it's pretty far down the priority list currently.

Appreciated, I’ve learned a lot since I started 3 years ago, still a lot to learn!!

The top opening was the main driver behind this one. Lone wolf got that one right but missed on a few things for me. I built this specifically for whitetail based on probably 40-50 bags I’ve owned and played with.

I really like the design and I'm going to steal it for my use.

I'm looking at making a whitetail panel for my stone glacier sky 5900. I'll take the bag off and attach the panel with the pals on it to the frame. That way I'll be able like you to attach items to the panel and also be able to pack the deer out.

Warm clothes will go into a stuff sack that will be between the load shelf and the panel. Simple design that will fit my whitetail hunting needs.

I knew it reminded me of something besides a Scout! Overall, the Lone Wolf pack didn’t hold a lot of appeal for me, but the top opening sure did. Which fabrics did you use for the liner and stretchy stuff? Anything in particular that drove you to line it? (Edit: nvm, the lining is to hold the foam panels in place)

I recently picked up a Mystery Ranch Go Bag, and that pack has my wheels spinning to build a possible Sherman-esque accessory pack to carry up the tree. I wouldn’t mind a bag like this to have as well, but have a hard time leaving the frame behind when I head to the woods.

Ready to test this thing out. I did not build the shoulder straps, everything else about the backpack I did. Obviously the two Kifaru pouches came from Kifaru.

Sweet pack. Do you do custom work? Seem to recall someone on Rokslide offering that and I know you are on there also. In a few months here I am looking for someone to make a custom LWCG .5 hauler. I have a very specific vision what I want and no desire to learn the skills to make it. Realize it's going to be spendy.
