Badlands discount

Hope you like them more than I did. I actually ended up sending the merino base layers back (top & bottom). Idk for me personally I found them to be too itchy & not really worth the $$ BL was asking for them (even with the discount). I already had the Calor baselayers and those seemed more heavy duty for late cold season layering so just going to stick with them. Been thinking of maybe adding in some Scentlok baselayers, so best of both worlds if you will.

Haha, I actually upgraded with this discount. BL finally dropped the "sale price" on the 2200 so I was able to use the half off coupon. I needed a bigger pack to haul my late season Pyre set in so picked up the 2200. Now I have the Scout pack for scouting/early season, the Axis pack (Badlands/Cabela's exclusive) for mid season and the 2200 pack for late.
Does the 2200 fit your pyre set ok? I’d figure that wouldn’t be enough room.

My 2200 just arrived today and that was the first thing I tried. There was still plenty of room in the main compartment after stuffing the Pyre set in there. I ended up loading it fully up as if I was going out late winter hunting and that frame and hip belt really make a world of difference with taking the weight off your shoulders.

Does anyone have the Pyre bibs? I’m worried they will be too warm to wear on the walk in and too bulky to fit in my Pursuit pack if I have anything else in it.

Planned on buying the Pyre set. But the timing is off with my money. My transmission went out and having to drop $3,500. So I will have to wait for the next go of discounts to get them.

3,500!?! what u driving? A Lamborghini? Murrica! Drop that thang yourself

think of all the cool stuff you could buy :sunglasses:

You wouldn't want to walk in with the Pyre set on IMO. Its the reason I went with a 3rd pack the 2200 to carry my late winder gear as I usually walk upwards of a mile+ to get to my hunting spots. And after last season using the Pyre set, its something you want to be putting on at the stand unless you have a very very short walk. Could always strap the Pyre bibs to the outside of your pack and put them on once at the stand, then you wouldnt have to worry about stuffing them inside the pack. Its how my Axis pack got me through last season. Jacket stuff inside and pants rolled up like a sleeping bag attached to the outside. Not ideal but it worked-ish.

Never walk in with outer layers on, I always walk in with just base layers if I can. I later up afyer getting to the base of the tree or in the tree. I hate being sweaty all day.

Diablo, superday or 2200? anyone had their hands on all 3? I need a pack for hauling late season outer layers...
