Battle Belt Mod to Mantis

I actually did not unfortunately. I got the same belt he has on his site, I just bought mine from Amazon because when I bought mine, I didn’t know he carried them. Same belt though...the One Tigris belt.

Thanks man. That battle belt may be the ticket. I cant get the same comfort every time im in the saddle this should help keep it lower/underneath more.
 
Messing around with this now and looks promising. I added the H Harness to the belt in place of suspenders...no ass syndrome. Made my own belt with a rated buckle and added linesmen loops.

I started using some cheap suspenders last season and it made a big difference for me. Before I wasn’t able to wear my saddle while walking in bc it would slide down. Does anyone have opinions on suspenders vs a battle belt? Or maybe the combination would be nice.

I have a pistol belt attached to my vest I've been contemplating replacing with this belt and also attaching the saddle....just unsure how cumbersome itll be to put on a vest and saddle at the same time....this belt has sufficient padding so when u using the linesman belt loop it isn't digging in ur hip?

I bought DanO's battle belt and moved everything off of my saddle. The BB weights about 8.5 lbs, about 2lbs of that is the rappel gear on the right side. It rides on your hips and is sufficiently padded that I don't feel the weight at all. That's everything I need to carry into the woods except for a 5 stepp WE bag and my weapon. The holster is from Alien Gear, molle attachment with interchangeable molded holsters for each gun.

I gotta think on it a bit....the current pistol belt works fine ....the battle belt and linesman straps kinda pricey....

Yea I was planning on having a Battle Belt w/ LB and sitdrag combo, and my keeping my kite saddle for rope climbing methods. At nearly $100 I’d probably have to sell my saddle because I couldn’t justify having both.

I still want to get one, I just haven’t decided yet. If I got the belt I would want the rated buckle as well since I’m using a sitdrag.

@ericabbot how much were you in for on the BB, LB and Buckles?

Total was $91 (all from DanO). If you have a COBRA or other rated buckle you could reuse that instead of buying a new one. I was planning on buying another saddle, so for me this was cheaper and more functional.

BB - $35
LB - $26
Buckle - $30

What saddle is that? The kestrel?
 
Has anyone tried running this mod on a two piece battle belt system?

I'm getting a two piece system that I can run the inner belt through my belt loops and then the outer belt velcros onto the inner loop.
 
Hey @MathewsMan7 ....ur EWO doyles is upside-down....the end that doesn't have the shockcord opening has a small slit/opening to pull the strap thru down in 1 of the corners. I just noticed looking at ur pics of the mantis and batttlebelt combo
 
I use a battle belt with my metal free method. I don’t attach the belt to the saddle, though, so that when I’m at climbing height, I can take off the belt and hang it from my HYS. Very comfortable for walking in and climbing.

Nice observation...I honestly had no idea the slit was there. I’ve since moved the pouch to my backpack; however, it is still upside down...never been accused of being very smart :)

It's there...just maybe not super visible without really looking for it... Tie a stopper knot in the doyles before u untie ;)
