Currently in the middle of my first shot of the year and I noticed a bulge where me carabiner clips into my Beal Jammy. I’m no stranger to a saddle but this is my first real sit with the 8mm Oplux and Beal Jammy combo. I’ve practiced in the yard quite a bit. What do you guys think? I left mine lineman’s belt attached as a precaution for now.

Can you make the image bigger, or so that you can zoom in? I can't see a thing.

First pic is the jammy unloaded. Next pics are the jammy loaded with my weight, approx 160lbs

Have you considered contacting the manufacturer of the equipment to get a qualified evaluation? I suspect they’d probably be all ears given the potential consequences.

This combo is basically brand new. Bought it all (carabiners, jammy’s, and Oplux) from @DanO a few weeks ago. I haven’t messed with the jammy at all aside from using it as it arrived packaged, as a prussik.

I certainly will. I literally just found this issue a few moments ago and am still in the tree. I am using both my tether and lineman’s belt at this point.

At a plump 160# that definitely doesn't look like something that should happen. I just placed an order for Oplux and Jammys yesterday from DanO so I am following for sure.

When you milk the rope, does the core and sheath all straighten back out, or does the core stay lumped like it is in your picture?

Could the cord have moved within the sheath while or b4 stitching or possibly damaged in the process. I’d definately consult with manufacturer and will be keeping close eye on my two.

Just milked it back in. Appears to be back to normal. Still a little off put by the whole deal. Strongly considering going back to my Tethrd tether and ropeman for tomorrow’s sit.

I would reach out to Beal directly, and give them the pictures, as well as the piece of information that it milked back to form. That's a very important detail they'll appreciate.

Interesting, I just purchased the beal jammy and oplux rope yesterday. Is there anything you did like about the setup?

Glad you caught it before incident. I just received my jammy/oplux in the mail today. I was excited to see the awesome grey color but then my excitement diminished when I read “made in Madagascar”. Now I am definitely hesitant to get in the tree for my first sit of the season this week.
