Beal Jammy coming apart?

Interesting, I just purchased the beal jammy and oplux rope yesterday. Is there anything you did like about the setup?
I certainly liked the compact size of the setup. The tether and lineman’s ball up small enough to stuff in a small cargo pocket for carry. The Jammy’s appear to be quality made but like I said, I’m hesitant at this point to rely on it. I’m pretty certain I’m going back to the system I used last year, Tethrd tether with Wild Country carabiners and a Ropeman 1. It might be a bit larger in my pack, but I’ll appreciate the piece of mind.

I’m a guy who had a Kestrel, sold it for a Mantis, hated the Mantis, and is now back in a new Kestrel. I’m very much a “minimalist” hunter more than I am an ounce counter. I appreciated the simplicity of the Jammy’s and the Oplux. However, I’m not sure if the smaller profile is worth my new “perceived” risk. Who knows...

Is a ropeman1 ascender (cuts ropes around 4 kN) really peace of mind over a 22kN prusik loop?

Im using a beal to back up rm1. No issues

my beal jammy did the same thing. the bulge in mine eventually would not go back in. there is a section of core that is bulged out through the sheath and won't go back in. it happened right where the jammy bent from going around the carabiner. i immediately retired it. it was only 3 weeks old.

What's so great about the beal jammy other than it being sewn? Could you not just go with another rope and knot it for the prusik?

One of the thinnest 22kn rated prussick loops. People on oplux 8mm need them thin loops.

My beal jammy also has a bulge, it happened after a couple uses, I have continued to use it on my linemans belt, but it makes me nervous

Anyone tried sterling trc 6mm instead of the jammy?

I’m using Sterling TRC on my OpLux tether and LB, works great.
