Bear encounter draw stop

I had an issue where I lost the draw stop and screw on my Bear Encounter. (Long story…) I have been having a nearly impossible time getting Bear to send me the right part, with two packages arriving at my address with the draw length module and screws but NO stopper or draw stop screw. I ordered a set of aftermarket Lucky Stops and the stops work, but the screw sets are still “loose” in the cam recesses, leaving me baffled as to what the heck this draw stop screw is supposed to be!

Does anyone have any experience with this? I know a M4-0.7 screw fits but the shortest I can find locally is a 6mm which I’m unsure is correct length.

Also, for future reference, is this like a standard design or is this looked at as a poor design? Thus far I’m not happy to have navigated this whole scenario. This is my only bow as of now too so I was knocked out the last two weeks of season, which didn’t make me happy either.

Bear’s CS can be a little rough so that sucks. Are you near a pro shop? They usually have tons of those screws laying around. If not, take the bow inside with you to a true value. Should be a quick find.

My lucky stops for a Bear Resurgence came with several different screw length options. Your best bet is to take your bow to a pro-shop that sells and services Bear or PSE as some PSE draw stops will work on Bear bows depending on the age and models. Or go to the hardware store get as close as you can then grind it down to match the length. Bear's CS is hit or miss as said above. I ordered replacement limbs through a Bear dealer and it took them 3 tries just to get 70 pound limbs to me, not 60's. The first two times they sent clearly labeled and marked 60's in a 70 pound labelled box. Had to finally get the number to the factory warehouse and have someone open a few boxes and visually confirm it. They were never rude or argumentative and admitted there was a problem, it was just time consuming and annoying. A good shop should be able to get you sorted out quickly.

I know there's a hardware screw that does fit snug and works, i may go get another and use it with the lucky stop. I have it set right now and it's all good, just that the Lucky Stop screw has some 'play' in the draw length hole.

Is this a terrible design or a good one? Curious as I consider getting a second bow...

Could it be it came loose because it was stripped out? Maybe why you got some play?
If your looking for a slightly different screw McMaster Cart has lots of options.

I think I’d get a magnifying glass and see if the hole is damaged. Which dimension are you unsure of? I have a bear encounter and can try to measure the draw stop screw but I have no idea if lucky stops would be the same height as the factory ones so length might be moot.
