Beast stand - part2

If you go back and look at pics of the beast stand from years ago, he was using the same antler bracket then as he is now( he did use a LW batwing in the very beginning). I assume there's a reason he didn't put an angle on it.
It cost extra to machine the angle would be my guess. Every tree bracket I’ve ever encountered worked better with an angle or slightly rounding the bottom side of the teeth of the bracket. It allows the stick or stand to slide down when weight is applied and it gets much tighter that way. No need really to do the top.

I always did my Assault 2 stands with 45 angles it doesn't take much but helps a lot IMO. Less noise setting up!!!!

My beast stand squeaked on some trees I assume it was the offset bracket. My OG beast sticks did also. I think a chamfer like the sticks may mitigate that issue. I didn’t feel a need to toe hook it. It set when you gave a little hop towards the post.

Its all waterjet. A chamfer would require another step…$$$

Yep. I’ve taken a file/dremel/grinder to several brand new standoffs before even testing them on a tree. Sharp corners suck on standoffs when it comes to getting them to seat properly on a tree.

Looks like the price gap is closing. They jacked the 1.0 price $50

I am going to give the beast stand another shot. I Think the dimensions are perfect. I really want it to work.

Yeah LWCG doesn't have any thing in stock! Every thing is going up in price every ware! and at work supplies are hard to get.

The .5 is still the same but they don't have as much aluminum in it.

I don't know why folks feel like they have to toe hook stands to get a good seat all the time. Sometimes it helps, but it's not always necessary. It's easy to tell if you need to.

As you point out, the post is so close to the tree with the Beast design, weighting the stand there should set it pretty good.

I have some stuff that is up to a 22 month lead time at work. Absolutely crazy! Getting hard to run a business like this. Deadlines are out the window.

One of the advantages of being used to 10-80 week lead times on equipment that I sell and work on, is that my framing is totally changed now. I understand how long it takes to engineer, develop and integrate the new project into your current manufacturing schedule, procure materials, perform the work, then the logistics and shipping. Being exposed to that for 15 years has helped calm my nerves when I see a few week or month lead time on a new toy.

Long lead times are common place in the business world as you say. You see less of it on the consumer side. I think that because these are lower quantity runs and material is tough to get right now these smaller companies have no choice but to share the long lead times with their customers. This is uncommon for a lot of people who are use to going to big box stores and ordering online and having their stuff in hand in the time it takes to ship the product.

Amazon broke our patient bone.

I'm holding out for the MINI BEAST stand with mini seat option. I think it will be perfect for my mini size 7 boots, if it doesn't have that big hole in the middle. And if there is not an up charge for it being smaller.

Is this a thing? I heard Dan say something about a bigger beast stand but not a smaller stand.

I heard that he is working on a saddle platform but won’t be out this year ?
