Beast stand - part2

I have ordered a stand and am waiting for mine to ship. I'm just curious if anyone that isn't satisfied has left a poor rating on the site? I noticed all ratings are 5 stars there.

You think they will approve a negative review on their site??? Yea right….lol

It’s a good treestand. Some minuses… they have already addressed some issues as indicated by the production changes.

Biggest negative is the flex. But that’s a price you pay for the impressive weight to size ratio. You won’t see a stand this size any lighter. It does flex more than any other treestand on the market. You can’t deny that. If you do you are blinded by your beast boy fanboyism.

Its not perfect but it is one of the best on the market.

So I contacted them on order status and stand changes. For those who have one on order at least with the first shipment date of 8/25. They now have a new estimate by the end of next week.

I asked about the changes to the stand and this the response I got:

[Stand changes.

- nothing with painting, they are all anodized titanium grey

- yellow zinc plated steel inserts were used on the first batch for the rod attachment. These are steel, not brass. These have now been replaced with stainless steel inserts

- we have a slightly different antler design that ships with all stands, we had it in the works but we were not done with testing until now]

I hope this helps anyone thinking about purchasing or on the fence.

Still don't understand what was wrong with the old bracket that they needed to r and d then test a new one? I started a thread on the beast forum about it days ago and haven't gotten a response from Dan yet

I can't speak for them but seems a few of the issues folks were having here on this thread was with with the bracket. I'm guessing they got some feedback as well and tweaked it some.

The new beast bracket is on the beast site for sale as a upgrade! bracket still doesn't have chamfering it would really help it.

Had my stand out today getting ready for the Ky bow season starting next Saturday stand is really working great.Screenshot_20210829-110934_Gallery.jpg

Has anyone tried the shelf blocker sold by genesis 3D? If so, how do you like it? No sure I like the idea of it hanging by the bungee, seem like it could make noise while hanging/taking down the stand.

Hope that works out for you. I see some crazy snag factor there.
Been on a couple hunts in some grown up areas carrying full size beast sticks stack horizontally...and it’s not to bad but definitely makes it easier ducking under stuff ...the ease and quickness of packing is real nice...undecided on the “go to method”

I’ve got one on the way. I’ve been meaning to put together a little video of the mods I’ve done. Sewed up a cover for the seat. Also eliminated the steel cables, bolts, washers, nuts, and adjustment knobs of the cable system and platform leveling. It’s all Amsteel now.

I am pretty disappointed in the beast stand and the customer service. I bought one a while ago and it ended up holding a bend in the end of the platform I returned it.

I liked the dimensions so I decided I would give the stand another try. Bent the leveling bracket a bit so I contacted them asking what I could do. I was willing to bend it back myself or send them the seat to replace. They insisted I send it in for inspection. Being the start of my season I didn’t really want to do that but they insisted. So… shipped I it back. They told me they would inspect it and let me know my options. They gave me no options. They refunded my money. I never asked for a refund. They won’t reply to any of my emails. The just screwed me out of a stand to use… I guess it’s a blessing in disguise that I was relieved of that turd.

Should have asked for a loaner while they inspected that one lol. Yeah that’s annoying, I would be frustrated too. I’ve only had good experiences with their customer service though. I’m ready to put mine through the paces, gonna get it out next week for a couple sits. I don’t usually buy the first run of a new product because of testing but I bought this one because Dan said he has tested it for years. Kinda threw me for a loop when they released the new bracket and added the stiffener though. We will see how it does.

Not trolling, honest question. What did you do to bend this stuff? If they're running FEA on their designs, and you're within the weight limit, material quality issues are the only likely explanation aside from abuse.

i am 6-4 and weigh 245lbs first one held a slight bend in the end of the platform. Second one the leveling tab bent on the seat. The only thing I have done on the seat was sit on it or kneel to toe hook the stand to cam it to try to get rid of the creaks the stand would constantly make. I have been camming stands that way for many many years with all of my lone wolfs without a single issue.

I'm two hunts in and 6 or so observation sits and it's hands down the best stand I've ever owned. I love how there's no aggressive teeth on the platform v bracket because that allows you to set it with a simple hop close to the tree. I haven't had to toe hook it yet. Mine at least is dead quite but I have seen others voice some complaints. The cheap foam seat is far more comfortable than I would have suspected out of the box, but it's noisy and the durability is garbage. Easily rectified with some stealth stripping however. I would have liked to have seen an additional metal bar going across where the bow holder would have been. Sometimes when I'm not paying attention my foot tips into the opening, and for a second I'm thinking I'm on the edge of the stand when I'm not.
I also wish it had traction grooves in it. Not a big deal but the stand was soaked going through brush here on the second day, and the top felt a bit slippery.
I did hear Dan say he might try a limited run of stands with every bell and whistle cost being irrelevant. I might cave on that lol

That big hole in the front/mid section worried me also, I have a small foot and I was afraid that it would make me think I was falling. I'm still holding out for a Mini Beast stand.
