Beast Stick Step Durability

Really like these sticks, and they're exactly what I want as far as rigidity. But the steps are so thin and narrow vertically (in terms of material there). Compared to other sticks, the Beast steps look to have way less material. Anybody had any issues with the steps breaking?

I folded a step in half/backwards. (Not due to normal use conditions, though.).

Had the sticks strapped to the outside of my pack, and the pack strapped onto the stand. Shoved the entire mass into the back of my truck at an awkward angle. Got home and realized I bent the step. Likely put a huge amount of torque on the step, folding it backwards. Turns out the step got caught inside the platform rungs of ny Misson platform.

(To replicate: load up your entire backpack, insert one step of the beast sticks into a rung of another platform, cantilever the entire mass on that one step, and push really hard, and then watch as you bend the step backwards. It’s not going to hold up!).

Ordered a replacement. Not cheap, but parts were available. Replacement matched up perfectly. Kind of an exceptionally unusual situation I won’t repeat! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I bent two steps on the early ones when the parts were still made in china. Haven't had any problems with newer ones on my minis USA made. I emailed beast gear had replacement steps in a couple days. Good customer service. Both times I bent one they were still usable just tweaked them and used it as my bottom stick until replacement parts showed up.

Ive had beast sticks since the first batch came on the market. Never an issue.
im 270 5.10. A big boy
First i had full length 24 inch sticks for almost 4 years and now i own 20 inch mini’s.
i would not worry about them one bit.
Stong and built very well.
only thing about beast sticks is how they stack.

I agree, no issues at all with durability after 4 seasons, also, they bite into the tree like no other. The only issue and there are ways around it, is that they do not stack well. Several of the new sticks, new LWCG sticks or new Tethrd sticks, stack much better.

I had a discussion with a stick builder and for them to pass certain criteria to be allowed to market. They have to go through a 3000 step test. So I’d say your good.

I’ve got the mini beast sticks with the holes, used them all last year with EWO wire aiders. I’m 240lb in my socks, no issues with flex or durability for me. I had a 5th one I didn’t end up using that I’ve cut down to 12” to use for one sticking, I have no concerns on it being able to handle my weight.

Appreciate all the feedback!

Full disclosure, my only reason for asking (other than they do look a bit thin to my eye) is because I know a guy who had a step break last season. I figured it was a fluke. Things happen. Company took care of him. I wanted to see what the rest of the community had experienced without inducing any bias.

I have bought 6 of them over the past few weeks and now feel much better using them. They really are awesome sticks! Shockingly solid on the tree.
