Sold the 1800 pack bag and jumped up to the kuiu 3000 ultra.

Bought 15 degree marmot down bag. Three kuiu dry bags. Small, large and xxl. Goal zero guide 10 for power which was on a major sale. Also sold my 10x42 vortex diamondback binos and replaced with 10x42 vanguard ed glass and tripod adapter. Replaced my five year old water bladder with a platypus bladder and bottle for cooking. Four freeze dried dinners for the turkey hunt.

I've got a lot to get done between now and season. I've also been replacing the harness and control on my boat to prepare for tournament season.

Didn't forget about you guys. Ever wanna email me feel free jlh42581 at gmail.

Also have been working on my online magazine with ferocity.

I was thinking about your May trip for turkey but the drive is kinda long from NYC.

I'm hoping you post lots of pics!

jlh4581- I have been stocking up on my equipment also. I just started a new job so I haven't been around much either and my spring is basically shot due to work stuff. I'm hoping to put in at least a few weekend backcountry trips this summer just to start getting used to my gear.

alukban- I thought you were in CT? I'm about 1/2 outside of NYC FYI. I ended up going with a hammock over a bivy sack also :D

I'm planning to take video and pics for sure. My buddy is doing an internship in Montana and it's gonna be cutting it close for him to come. I might be solo.

Oh I added a new western tool Wednesday afternoon... Ruger .30-06 American stainless all weather. I need to buy a vortex for it here at some point. I love all the seasons and didn't want to limit myself to only archery. It seems backwards but gun tags are sometimes easier to draw than bow tags.

Nice! My buddy has a couple ruger american and loves them! I will probably be picking one up at some point as well.

Came highly recommend by my friends and the dealer. I considered it in .308 but being able to find 30-06 anywhere seemed like a smart move. Everything I read says the .308 is better in the lower bullet weights but the 06 excelled after a certain point.

I know this is an often debated topic, but IMO i think in the end you are going to end up with a dead animal either way with proper shot placement at appropriate ranges. The cardinal rule of any weapon is know your and your weapons limits!

In researching I came to the same conclusion re: .308 vs 30-06. I like the look of the american rifle in SS but also heard good things about savage rifles on the lower price range.

I want to get a rifle but I am not sure if I want to do a muzzle loader first, so I can expand my season.

So much to spend money on...so little money! Want rope climbing stuff, some camping stuff, need a few fly fishing items... Never ends!

Boone... hunting / fishing keeps me poor. Be glad you don't have a bass hole I mean bass boat to dump truck fulls of cash into. I've hit the point where my gear in both is solid. Had fly fishing on lock as of ten years ago. It was my first major money pit.
