Ok guys. I have just gone through like my 5th 3d deer target in about 3 years. I have been buying the Glendel Big Buck target and I like the replacement core as it will take a beating but the rest of the target just doesn't hold up well. I don't like the way the legs attach either. They used to twist lok and now they just slide in and they don't hold up well. Mine just had the legs snapped off when a gust of wind blew he target over. Help me out here. What are you guys liking for 3d deer targets.

Delta McKenzie Bloodline buck has the twist lock legs and replaceable vitals. It can take broad heads and field points. The antlers won’t stay in for long though unless you use Gorilla glue to lock them in there or something.

I don’t know if this would be helpful but I usually shoot primarily with my 16 sided Rinehart target most of the off-season and try to drill the smallest target. Then with about 2 weeks until the season, I bust out my 3D target. Seems to keep the wear and tear off the 3D target and it seems like you’re shooting an elephant compared to that Rinehart target.

check Midway for the rinehart factory second 3d targets. They are a great value I.M.O. Ive had one for around 5 years and its holding up well, I do store it in a shed to prolong its life, I believe mine is the woodland buck with the replaceable core.

I’ve only purchased a couple 3D deer and hog targets and I tear them up so quickly that I almost exclusively just shoot block targets these days. Once you have your shot placement down, it’s really more about consistently shooting where you aim. Down here we have the advantage of a plentiful hog population and no bag limit or season on private land, so I go on some spring and summer hog excursions to practice for deer season. The have a smaller kill zone and are closer to the ground but the basic concept is if your set up kills a hog it’ll kill a deer. So live practice is the best practice once you’re sighted in.

Pros and cons of the targets mentioned so far? Thanks.
the biggest con of the rinehart factory second is appearance, they tend to have a bunch of surface bubbles that make them look rough but the inserts are rinehart quality so for backyard use I dont see an issue with it. The woodland series is smaller than their fullsize which makes it easier to put it away in between target shooting sessions
