Best Ghillie/Mesh leafy clothing?

No personal experience but the Rancho Safari Shaggy Longcoat really has me interested. Any time I've tried using leaf pants they just get tangled up in brush and briars, so the idea of extending the top to my knees or mid-thigh seems like the right length.

if on stand, you can just pack in a leafy top or if sitting down then also pack in

I alos hate Leafy pants for the same reason. Along with the fact alot of them have elastic around the ankles which just rode up on the pair I had. I tried a pair of camo coveralls last year which I think are awesome for saddle hunting. So its cover alls and a leafy top for me this year.

Question: if u spray these mesh leafy suits with permethrin they still do a good jobs of keeping the nastys out? Ticks/chiggers don't make it thru the mesh?

bass pro brand leafy top in the true timber kanati camo is the best match for the foliage i hunt in around me. Keep that in mind when you are looking at different ones. ive had some that were way to dark or too much green even for turkey season. Kanati is a great all around pattern and very affordable. ive always been interested in first lite but cant afford it. That camo does a good job of blending in/breaking up your silhouette

I'm genuinely curious for peeps who have used in the past....with the bugs being smaller than the holes in the mesh will they just crawl right thru? Wearing shorts and a t-shirt under 1 of these sounds awesome and I'm all in if it'll still keep the seed ticks and chiggers off

Man just stop getting chiggers. That's what I did about 25 years ago. Absolutely the best thing I ever did. I just wish I knew what it was I did. Only thing I can figure is I got so many growing up that I developed an immunity of some sorts. We had a 2 brothers my Dad's age in the hunting club I grew up in. They were 50% Cherokee and they never got chiggers and the skeeters seemed to never bother them either, they always said eat more garlic.

Fact. Grew up in Louisiana. I was the same way with chiggers and mosquito bites. They never bothered me. I’d just get a little small red dot where they bit me, no welt, no itch. Then I moved away for 30 years of military service. Now I get welts and they itch like crazy lol.

I think you would prefer a “ leafy bug suit” to a mesh Firstlite/ Asat style, the bug mesh offer a good amount of protection but mosquitoes can stil get ya where fabric lays flush like back of neck/ forearm. Permethrin helps with ticks, gnats etc
They are not as durable
