Sorry, I have a basic question. Is there a consensus on the best location on a stick for the attachment point? Or is this still based on stick design?

Example, most sticks I see are above the middle point. Usually 1/3 down from the top. Or is this more complicated based on location of standoff and bracket? The Tethrd stick location seem a lot higher then others.

Thinking of building a new stick when season end and don't want to drill a bunch of holes needlessly. Thank you.

I'm strictly a newb when it comes to this but the physics of a fulcrum tells me to put it above center. Lower than center if your weight is on the outside edge of the stick/platform and you don't have the tightest tie-in you have the potential of pivoting the top of the stick outward from the tree. Stick design obviously impacts this but that's the basic concern for me. Making my stick(s) I put all the tie-ins above center line for this reason.

I would have to assume that ~1/3 standard is a standard for a reason and roll with it.
If it’s too high up I’d imagine quite a bit of kick out as well, but I could be wrong.
