I bought this cheaper pack last spring off amazon. I wasn’t expecting much since it was $33, but it is actually perfect, has literally everything you need in a pack and it has held up a full season without anything breaking.

My requirements for a new pack was: price, smaller in size, had to hold my predator platform inside, chest/hip straps to help distribute the weight, and straps that can hold my sticks onto the back or sides.

What’s nice is I can keep minimal things in it for early season or have room for some stuff inside for later in the season.

I show two different ways to hold the sticks. Just under 10 pounds for the pack, two climbing sticks (Heliums), Predator platform, and my 5 step CAYG aider.

I bought one very similar. It did not hold the sticks well and a zipper broke on the first go. Still a good pack for the money but I won’t use it for hunting.

How is it for tightening down the shoulder and hip straps? Can you get the pack to fit you ergonomically/comfortably for hiking in?

It fits me fairly well and is comfortable. I wear if scouting into a hunting destination and hardly notice it being uncomfortable. I’m a slim athletic build, if that helps. It’s on Amazon prime. You can order it, test the feel and return it if you don’t care for it.

Thanks for the input. I’m considering a new pack. I have to hike a few miles in where I hunt so I’m trying to thread the needle between minimalist gear while also having proper straps and support on the pack to efficiently carry it. This looks like it could be a compromise. I see there’s many like it on Amazon.

For sure! Last year my buddies and I did our own public land challenge in the big woods in northern Michigan. Got on a ton of deer/bucks but to do so we did hike quite the distance.

Grantedmy setup is extremely light so I really wasn’t packing too much in or on the pack.

I wear my mantis Saddle when walking into my spot 1lb.

I use two hawk minis paired with amsteel daisy chains 2.1lbs each.

moveable multi step aider (not sure the weight but pretty much nothing

Predator platform 3lbs

So for my minimal setup it’s around 8-8.5 lbs that’s in the pack or strapped to the pack. Say 9 lbs with any small accessories I would need like tree accessory strap or range finder.
