Biting the bullet

There’s a field that I scouted recently it has a lot of promising deer sign on some public land near me. It’s a bunch of really really young Pines and brush lots of cover to hide but no trees big enough to strap my tree seat to and nothing to hang a saddle from. Be new to the area that I’m in I want to be able to hunt every bit of it. I think between saddle and pac seat I’ll have it all covered. Also I’ll be honest, I could use a good camp and fishing chair lol.

Argh! This thread is killing me! I've survived so many bouts with this particular temptation since Nutter started going on about it.

I gotta go watch that annoying Expedia commercial with Ewan McGregor, quick!
:sunglasses:

Here is something for all of you without a Waldrop pacseat to think about. David Waldrop is not getting any younger. Who knows how much longer he will be making them.

All I know is I have mine and I love it. I use it deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing and sitting around our fire pit. It is totally worth the money. I especially like it when I am deer hunting late December in Minnesota. I stay much warmer on the ground then.

This was my thought. If I don’t get one now, I might not be able to get one at all.

This thread needs to be shut down… I was eyeing the PAC Seat hard for a few months this fall, but never pulled the trigger. I may have to give it a try this year.

Yep. I've been holding off but I just sent the link to my wife. Maybe they'll bless me with one for Father's day :)

Yep. I tried to get @Weldabeast to make me one but he aint interested. Sigh... who else welds???

Roger. I'll let her know!
I told him I needed time for money and he put me down anyway. But I believe he typically accepts 175 or half (seats are 320 plus 30 shipping) up front as a deposit. I really don’t see these being available for a whole lot longer. Who knows maybe he will choose a successor to keep producing them.

Unbelievable.. you guys have scared me into going ahead and getting one. Shot him a message tonight to try to get my order placed.

This exactly. I was mildly joking earlier about the challenge presented by this thread, but now I'm breaking into a cold sweat.

I have two of David's pacseats. I have the original which only leaned against the tree and last year I got the current model which is freestanding. Comfort and portability make it worth every dime. I never move from one tree to another during a hunt out of my saddle due to the effort involved. But I've moved my pacseat 20 yards or so to get in a better position or better cover and it only takes a couple minutes to relocate.

As far as camo, I'm using the KillSuit Sapper that David shows in his video's. Last year I had a doe at 15 yards that saw me moving to get a better shot on her around some saplings. She looked right at me, then flicked her tail and went back to feeding. I took a shot and she ducked it (my fault for shooting mid level on her). She ran about 25 yards into some thick stuff, then walked right back to me. She stopped at 10 yards looking right at me! Nothing between us, but she couldn't figure out what I was and turned sideways and walked away. I made the mistake of not nocking an arrow after that first shot.

The Pacseat will last you the rest of your life. Great camp chair even if you don't like ground hunting. Just do it.
