Boat buckle overcenter buckle (OCB, boatbuckle)

Just ordered my first batch of custom straps/buckles and went with 7'. Can order any size needed for future orders. Will get them on the website when they get in.

Can this be used to replace the LW straps. Or the strep on the predator platform?

It wouldn't be a good replacement. This buckle is good for when you want to get something tight without it moving anymore. On the lw straps and predator you want to get things pretty tight and then set them in. The cam buckles they use work good for that.

Right now I am using an ameristep strap with the extra webbing that held the step in removed. If you have one of these straps this is the easiest route because it already has the little U hook sewn into it.

I was using a different buckle originally. It was a black buckle made for 2 inch webbing but it was much bigger than this one. It worked great and was pretty light, it was just bulky

You will see these buckles referred to as the OCB (over center buckle) or boat buckle frequently on the site. It usually refers to one of these buckles but generally refers to this

I’d like to use this to attach my camera arm base/shoulder to the tree. Assuming I’d just need to cut that hook off and run the bolts on the base through them straps? Anyone done that?

You might need to customize your straps a little but you can definitely use this buckle to hold a camera arm to the tree.
I’ll have to try it. It’s cheap enough, but I’ll have to add a couple foot extension to it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t see any longer than 3’.

anybody use the buckle that strapworks sells? https://www.strapworks.com/product_p/mth-ocb-001.htm

I have a strap and just need the buckle. The price is right but I'm not sure how much leverage you can get compared to other options, and whether that locking action is a bug or a feature?

I quickly convinced myself that the lock wouldn't be a good thing, with no way to keep it quiet if really trying to cinch it down. And then I noticed EWO is now selling the buckle without the strap, so count me as yet another giving props to @DanO for spotting needs and filling them.

are you buying the buckle and strap but only 7sing the buckle from amazon?...lol...sorry I'm confused

Just got my EWO package and the OCBs are unreal. I put the 7’ with sewn buckle on my ROS and put the separate buckle on my platform. I think it turned out pretty sweet and it’s tight!
