Bolt issues

So my father in law purchased a bear fortus x bow a few years ago and it’s time for new bolts. The current trophy ridge x ray bolts are 20” and 10.7 gpi with a 125gr field point. The issue is I can’t find anything similar in weight and I can’t find any information on spine. Bear says 370gr minimum total arrow weight with no max weight. How much of an issue is spine in a x bow? Any bolts that are stiffer than others. The information I’ve found from manufacturers seems to be pretty thin. I know there are some knowledgeable x bow shooters on here so hopefully you can help me out.

Spine is an issue.
Not familiar with your bow. My crossbow shoots about 320 FPS.
The manufacture recommends carbon arrows.
Knock tuning is such a hassle, last time I got 7 arrows to shoot out of 12.
Switched to Easton XX75 2219 crossbow arrows.
Would not shoot well with 125 gr. heads.
Shoots great with 100 gr.

Just depends on what you want. 400 would be the minimum I would go. I am up at 520 out of a r26. I am shooting Sirius Phoenix shafts 110 grain insert with a 200 grain head. I am not super familiar with the bears what kind of nock do they use. Screenshot_20210823-194826.png

The fortus lists 180lb draw and 350fps. Half moon nock. The bolts that came with it are about 214grains or 10.7gpi. I’d imagine the insert adds weight and like I said the 125gr field point. I just can’t find any spine information from any of the manufacturers. My local bow shop said they can find something close but they only carry one brand of bolts. Maybe I’m overthinking

You can use just about any correct length bolts from any manufacture with the correct nock. It’s like I use dragon claw bolts out of my Excalibur micro I would contact www.wyverncreations.com he has every shaft for every crossbow company plus the prices are better than everyone and I mean every ones out there. Send him a email and he will respond within a hour

Thanks, I’ve sent them an email.

I'm using Bloodsport Witness that fly pretty well for the money. The Dragon Claws would probably be more consistent for not a whole lot more money though.

I picked up a half dozen black eagle executioners per wyverncreatiins suggestion. I just got them in. We'll see how they work.

I shot the executioners yesterday with 125 gr field points. The accuracy was way better than the trophy ridge bolts that came with the bow. The BE bolts are a smidge lighter but are stiffer according to Black Eagle. I’m thinking about switching to BE for my compound now. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions and information.

Great quality shafts that don’t break the bank and will get the job done just as good if not better than those super high dollar shafts

You can always go heavier broadhead like 150 the insert Dave uses is perfect to break down the spine my micro can hoot 125/150 near identical to each other at 50 yards. It’s for me to decide if I want 425 or 450 grain which I’m leaning towards the heavier set up

Good to know. I have a pretty hefty supply of 125’s right now but may look at 150’s as the 125’s get used up.
