Bowmar’s Sentenced for Wildlife Violations

Unrelated, if y’all want to see someone destroy some trucks on a consistent basis look up whistlindiesal on the YouTube’s. The way I was raised it burns me up seeing people destroy perfectly good stuff, but he does have some interesting videos. The Toyota Hilux is particularly heartbreaking because it was in great condition and looked like an awesome little truck.

A real shame to destroy one of those things. Here in the US they are as rare as hen's teeth. The older ones are what a truck was meant to be, Simple, durable and designed to be fixed in places where the nearest garage is 500 miles away. There is a reason they are all over Africa, Asia and South America. They are great, tough little trucks. Toyota can't sell them in the USA. We are blessed with the far more complicated and vastly more expensive Tacoma. The Tacoma is a good truck in its own right, don't get me wrong, but a good, solid 4x4 should not cost $50,000. If I am not mistaken, a few years ago when I was looking, a new Hilux could be had in Africa, Asia or South America for about $10,000 US.

I agree a nose anchor is much more consistent. The post I quoted was in regards to why the bowmar nose button works better than other nose anchors. I was simply asking in case I am missing something about this product that makes it more effective than others.
I like the thing overall, but particularly when my nose is cold. It’s not as sensitive and the little spike works better to confirm position than a wad of thread etc.

Pure YouTube idiocy right there. I won't watch another. As you said, shame to ruin a decent little truck like that.

Yeah it kills me to see people just ruin things on purpose. It’s even worse to do it for entertainment value imo. But who am I to judge. Here I’m still driving my 2016 Chevy Silverado with 68,000 on it. I’m very OCD with my stuff including my beloved truck(s). The one before this one was a 2007. Because we have salt up here all winter, it absolutely destroys vehicles. I hate investing in any depreciable asset, like trucks and any vehicle for that matter, (and bows) and most hunting gear LOL but anyway, I do try to take care of things. Every September I have my truck completely fluid filmed and I also wash it once a week(give ir take) as long as it’s not subzero out. So far my trucks stay pretty rust free. So it kills me to see people just destroy things intentionally when I work hard to try to save things for as long as possible. It’s how I was raised and we wonder why we have all this trash filling out landfills etc. mind numbing really.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense, I have not had an issue with feeling the material, but I can certainly understand where you are coming from and how people could find benefit in that feature.

That kid is awesome.....screw the haters...yes it can be painful to watch sometimes (the weight thru the charger windshield was just wrong) but he is living the dream

One of my biggest pet pieves is poachers or anyone who would intentionally set out to break the law in order to kill animals, I’ve said this before but I once reported my own dad for killing over the limit on squirrels when I was 15, if I knew them it was wrong to do then why can’t grown men make the same distinction. I’ve always said tv shouldn’t be in hunting unless to strictly be educational, especially nowadays with all the “YouTube experts” trophy hunting and doing unethical or questionable things just for likes and clicks. I’ve always been in the camp of hunting should be done strictly to get meat, PERIOD it shouldn’t be a sport. It’s a double edged sword though I know bc at the same time they wouldn’t get the conservation funding they need. Ugh what a world we live in.

How did your dad respond?

He was pissed, stayed pissed at me until I emancipated myself to join the military at 17 (turned 18 just out of basic training). Cut all contact with him for a decade and when reconnected he forgave me and understood that what I did was right and he was just an a**hole.

Wow.
Don't talk to Dad for ten years because of a squirrel.
Sounds to me like there is a tick more to it.....but maybe not.

Yep, it’s hard when the 15-17 yr old has more sense than the adult, and I don’t surround myself with people who preach family and all that yet chastise their own kid for doing the right thing just bc it put them in a bad spot. There were other things but that was the straw that broke the camels back, he also forbid me going into the military hence the emancipation. Weak men are a liability in my eyes and I will have no part in it.

What makes theirs work better? Isn't it just an anchor point to touch to your nose. Not trying to argue, just asking. I don't see how one could be better than another.
I have used kissers, serving knots etc and to be honest, the nose button is just a better more functional device. The way its designed with 360 degrees of those little points let you really find a tiny spot with the very sensitive tip of your nose again and again regardless of string rotation. Its amazing how you can feel those little tips and get them in just the right spot. There is a reason Levi Morgan, one of the best to ever do it, shoots the nose button and not some other kisser/knot etc. It really irritates me that the bowmars have the patent on this device.

Send one over to mainland China. They'll knock it off for next fall.
