Bowmar nose button

Fired up the printer. Appears to be useable. Will try on bow... eventually.

My buddy just dropped off the ones he printed for me from that file on thingiverse.com. At first they looked fine but when I went to try and tie it to my bow I realized that the smooth ends need to be much longer, probably double what was originally designed. If you had a hell of a lot of patience you could probably get this version to work, I've been trying to tie it down now for 20 minutes with no luck knot keeps slipping off the end of the button.

Did you try a constrictor knot?

yes that's the knot I used. The smooth shelf if probably less then 1/8 in total. I am gonna redesign it so its longer so it will be easier to tie the knot. The original bowmar version it looks like the area where the knot is tied is probably 1/4 inch in length

Has anyone tried the Bowmar nose button for hunting?
I first saw it and thought that’s a gimmick and I don’t need it.
I was wrong and wish I had this little device years ago.
Very repeatable anchor point and I don’t see me not using one from here on out.
I shot competitive 3D archery for 30 years and have won on a national level and always thought my form was rock solid with just my nose touching the string for reference but the nose button points out very slight pressure differences that effect accuracy.
The best thing for me is I no longer use a peep to hunt with so the nose button really gives me the confidence in the moment of truth I’m anchored properly without really thinking about it.
They are like $15.99 easy to install and it’s worth every penny imo.

I put them on all my rigs. Kissers are gone. Being a nose on string shooter has helped

I have to Change my anchor point when I slide my sight too. Do you like the nose button better than a kisser in that situation? When I shoot farther my kisser is more down on my chin. Where’s the nose button touch when you shoot farther?

set your anchor point at 40 yards (peep and nose button). You wont have to make hardly any adjustment if any depending on speed of arrow at 20 yards. Because your centered at 40 your 50 and 60 should be pretty good but will need to make adjustments after that probably

You don't shoot a kisser or peep? I have one I've not tried yet.

I have to make small adjustments to center my sight housing in the peep, and it is enough that I notice....even if it is only a 1/32 or something.

I'm new to Bowmar on youtube. Is there a reason not to buy from him?

I think he got a wildlife law violation charge (can't remember what it was or if he beat it or not). Also, some people don't like his demeanor (ultra type A, etc). Lastly, he is an excellent shot and OCD on his equipment.....but he takes shots that a lot of people consider questionable (like over 100 yards on an elk, and filmed it).

Myself, I find his tip videos to be really good. So, I'll take what is useful there. Like his videos on arrow construction, etc have tons of little tips you might not have thought of.

For years we used to use a painted brass nock set instead of a peep sight. You could do the same to make yourself a nose button just add shrink wrap around it or even a small piece of vet wrap. You could also use one of the rubber "eliminator buttons" many of us used to use before D loops were around to cushion your nock from the top of your mechanical release aide jaws.
