Bridge fraying - Tethrd Menace

I want to start off by saying I just noticed this today (Sunday) and I've emailed Tethrd to see what their opinion is. I understand they're closed today and am giving them time to respond. I'm not intending this as a complaint on their product.... I'm very happy with it.

In the meantime, I want to see what some of you more seasoned saddle hunters think of this. The amsteel bridge on my menace saddle has a spot where it looks like it's damaged or fraying. One entire group of the braid (not sure what you call it.... Seems like more than a "strand") appears to be completely broken. This is the first time I've had it on and wanted to practice in the yard. It looks like it's right at the end of where the end is buried into the body, as if the needle/bury tool clipped one of the sides when it came out. What concerns me is it's in the area that my carabiner attaches to, which I would imagine sees more stress than some other areas.

What do y'all think? Am I being overly paranoid?

I sent one of the guys a picture of mine as well. They thought it was the bury. It still makes me a little nervous. I am thinking about replacing mine with some climbing rope and making it adjustable.

If it’s at the part where the diameter of the rope seems to narrow then I think it’s safe to say it is a bury. That’s where mine is.

Amsteel has no core, its hollow braid. Anytime you see it go from thick to thin thats where the free end has been buried back inside. Nothing to worry about.

I had the same thing. As you see here people have let you know what it is. I too emailed Tethrd and their response was basically what the folks here already said. I’ve used mine quite a few times since. No issues.

Same thing everyone else has said. It's the bury ends. All good to use.
