Browning Trail Cams

I use my Browning cam in burst mode, and I'm real happy with what I get. I also have a Primos and Spypoint cam and I'd say the Browning is the most reliable, and I like how the control door can lock separately so your card can't be stolen.

For non cell cams browning is the best I've tried. Their cell cam leaves alot to be desired though. Cell cam i run Ridgetec lookout. Best cell cam on the market .
I picked up a couple Browning Strike Force Apex refurbs, and I have them soaking right now. Really excited to see how they turn out.

Bringing up an old thread, but any of you guys running browning use rechargeable batteries? Been looking at getting some EBL2800s. I don't run cams all year long. Pretty much March through may for turkey season and September through December for deer season.

stay away from the 850. had two with IR issues. my strike force and command ops work great.

I would definitely use lithium, but for the price and length of time I have cams out, I don't see it being cost effective. We also don't have tla costco close... although they could possibly be available online? I've heard rechargeables pay for themselves after the 3rd use. Just looking for someone who has tried these in brownings.

I have tried them but lithium last all season long I don't have to replace them. Rechargeables do not last all season I am always carrying batteries and have to make sure to recharge them so for me lithium is the way I went. Plus lithium's work better in cold weather that's why most of the camera manufacturers recommend lithium batteries

And another benefit to lithium is the won't leak so they wont destroy the camera from the inside.
Not sure about rechargeable batts, can they leak??
I won't run disposable alkaline for that very reason.

@Apex7 What are your favorite features on the Exodus? I have no experience with them but thinking about buying another camera. I know that Jeff Sturgis of Whitetail Habitat Solutions uses them and loves them. I don't think they sponsor him either. I might be wrong on that though. Not 100% sure.

Watch amazon's lightning deals. Last summer picked up AA lithium for the price of AA alkaline. They sold out in less than 8 minutes. I think recargeable are only 1.2 volts compared to 1.5 for alkaline or lithium & not used in most trail cams?

I know they only run at 1.2v, which is why I was hoping someone that has tried them could chime in. Again, I don't run cans for months on end, so lithium are not anything I'm interested in. I can buy 60 rayvac from menards for 20 some dollars and get my cans through the season. If I can eliminate buying them every year, I'd be interested in that

If you are he// bent on running rechargeable batts try Eneloop. I ran a FiremanJim home brew trail cam for several years and Jim always said Eneloop were the best rechargeable.

I now run just Browning cams and never tried rechargeable in them so I can't comment on how well they work with rechargeable.

I do know that I HATE when trail cams malfunction which can be caused by weak batteries. For another few dollars, I want the best batts that I can run.

The only thing I don't like about lithium is the charge indicator isn't accurate. It will read 100% up until they go dead. But I easily get over 10,000 pics on a set of lithium in my Brownings set on the highest quality settings. That's pretty economical.

I don't personally own Browning Cell Cams but I know the State of New York DEC bought a lot of them for their three year Fisher Study and they had good things to say about them. I agree, spend the extra $$ and get the lithium ion, they are so much better than anything else. You feel it when you initially by them but when a year and half goes buy and you're still getting pics on the first set you know it was the right choice.

Don't you hate it when you eagerly check cams, only to find out the batteries pooped out on you? Spend an extra couple dollars and take battery failure out of the equation.

In my situation, I only run cams a few months out of the year. No need to spend extra on lithium, which is why I inquired about rechargeable. I don't need to find deals because rayovacs will get me through 3-4 months. Not questioning if lithium are worth it here, just looking for anyone with experience using rechargeable.

Same experience as a few others have mentioned have been running the same Browning cams for years, some for 6-7 years. Dark Ops and Spec Ops have been solid

I use rechargeable eneloops in my 6 brownings including their cell cam and I am pleased by them. I'll get about 4-5,000 pictures from my spec ops for example with the eneloops and they don't freeze in winter here in cold WI. You will have to probably change them more than lithium though because they self discharge. They do save me money.
