Made this thread just to show off my new steel really.

Buck knives had 20% off your order and id been looking at the paklite line. Finally forked up a little dough to get s30v steel and im pretty happy with how sharp i got em with a diamond stone and a little stropping (the skinner is not the easiest knife to sharpen because of the blade design). They feel a lot nicer in my hand than i thought they would. I was planning on using some polymorph to give them a more comfortable handle but definitely not needed.
Entire knife is coated with cerakote and the skinner is hunter orange so no more digging around for if i put it down while field dressing (never cared for painted/coated blades but gotta admit these look pretty good). Im thinking about getting some kydex to make a more compact double knife sheath for these.
Ive never paid more than 25-30 dollars on a knife (these 2 ended up being $81 shipped, not bad for what you get IMO) so im interested to see how the s30v steel holds up compared to their 420HC. Im able to keep my current knives sharp but usually have to touch them up at least once during dressing/skinning/quartering. They do sell a full kit you can buy but i couldnt find them in s30v or in the cerakote. Id rather just have the gut hook and skinner in one knife anyway and the caper is only 1.2 oz so its not a big deal to bring with me. Never needed a bone saw in the field because i drag all my deer where i hunt and quarter when i get home.
