Personally, I don’t think I’d clown with a dude that originally wrote a rule awarding deer that actually fit “in“ the bucket. I’m sure he has a soul, although somewhat dark and twisted. Lol

I don't wanna derail my own thread or take jokes too seriously, but I do want to clarify.

If we can ethically kill a species without any need (sport hunting) and enjoy and celebrate it, that to me is a bigger moral leap than saying there's no difference between killing a 4.5yo deer and a 0.25yo deer. Juveniles in most prey species suffer the highest predation rate anyway. Deer are synchronized breeders and one of the many benefits of that reproductive strategy is that you ensure "they can't eat them all." If anything, by harvesting young deer you're hunting them the way they're most prepared to be hunted. The way Nature or God intended, so to speak. Trophy hunting for some very protected species in Africa has been modified because targeting trophies in the breeding prime is more injurious to populations that taking out very young of very old specimens.

There's not a moral battle to be won or lost. It's legal in probably half the states from what I gather, which means biologists have looked at it and said it doesn't threaten the resource in those states.

I fully understand that to many it's "lame." But that's just like, your opinion, man. I think "enjoying the challenge" of bowhunting while wearing camo and scent-lok and treating that clothing with ozone and uv inhibitors for maximum advantage is lame. Neither opinion really matters. It's for sure not really difficult, but neither is buying and wearing a saddle or buying and shooting a compound bow. People enjoy both though. I don't really care if people do or don't shoot fawns, although I suspect a lot of people would have a change of religion if it became normalized. The dark and twisted part of my soul just likes pointing out inconsistencies in commonly held beliefs. IE, being difficult and not getting invited to parties anymore.

Anywho, that's me off my soap bucket. Welcome @BTaylor and @BCHunter!

How many points for a piebald that you can hold up with one hand shot with a bow from a white bucket while wearing no camo?

Cuz I’ve done that.

No, I name all deer Chuck Mangione.

The truly sad thing is I filmed it, but the entire video is black. And, no, I didn’t leave the lense cover on, lol.

I shot the deer out of spite. Killed a doe from the same spot (and same bucket) three days before this. It’s on 205 acres and the clown that owns .75 acres next door called the law on me for hunting out of season. I ignored him. Cop shows up, tells him it’s archery season and I’m not on his property so STFU. The cop then came down and helped me find the doe.

During the search he tells me about how the guy was going on about a white deer that comes in his yard all the time and how he loves to watch it. I showed the cop a trail cam pic of it and told him I was now going to kill it the next chance I got. 3 days later I did.

That's when you setup the hide stretcher in the front yard

Speaking of naming all deer Chuck Mangione, this bucket (different bucket, but a man can never have too many buckets) is filled with #ManagioneMix Bruiser…..

Also, there are a couple of guys on here whose season took a turn for the worse when I killed the above deer. They named it “The Spirit Fawn” and they will tell all kinds of sordid tales about how it was my fault that they suck at hunting. Purely coincidence so if they find this thread, pay them no mind
