Bug Repellent Stickers, do they work?

I recently chaperone for one of my kid's class field trip to a local nature center. I noticed a lot of the moms and kids had similar stickers on them. I was worried that I missed getting something that we were supposed to get. So I asked them about it, turn out that it's bug repellent stickers. That you basically just stick them on and they release a scent.

I have never used my thermacell, but I would be willing to slap a few stickers for those early season hunt where there are a few annoying bugs but not enough to make we want to deal with the thermacell.

Anyone have experience with them?

I have them for my 2 year old, work great. Not
Sure if they work on ticks or not but definitely work on other bugs
 
Are these like the spiral looking wristbands? Same ingredients?

Edit: Nm. Just looked them up... essential oil based. Good up to 2 hours.

Edit edit: Just bought some to see how effective they are.
