Calling any Kansas City area Hunters

Hey guys my son is going to be coming to Kansas City for a week long Seminary class either late fall or early January. I was thinking about going up with him and maybe try hunting some Public land up there in the KC area or East Kansas.
What are your thoughts for someone coming up? Any recommendations, helpful ideas, suggestions? Dont want to take your spot, heck Im 11 hours away, but any help would be appreciated.

Well, thats part of the unknown. I guess it all depends on who offers OTC tags and what the Non Resident rules are that will decide where I go.

Missouri is much cheaper and doesn’t confine out of staters to zones but Kansas does have a better buck to doe ratio and a more mature herd

So in Mizzou I can go to a walmart, buy a NR license or tag or whatever and go hunt Public?

For 225 I believe you get a pair of buck tags and a pair of turkey tags? Go to the mdc.mo.gov they list all C.A and walk in access programs

I’m Just east of KC in Columbia mo. I got more public land within 30 minutes of me than I could hunt in a lifetime. But to anyone reading this there’s not a deer on it nope not a single one so don’t bother comin
