Ok. I’m missing something but where do I buy carbon fiber bolts. I’ve looked at tree hopper and I’m not seeing it. I may have looked over it or I’ve turned illiterate.
Also. How Many of you pre-drill holes for sets. This weight cut intrigues me.

The ones I have a bought from someone on here. These are I think the same thing, but you'd have to cut them to 6in length.
Do your research on this. There are other threads you'll just have to search a bit.

If the weight is right. I like the looks and reviews on the tree hopper drill and bolts

My carbon ones are 3/8in dia x 6in long
Treehoppers are not carbon fiber those are just grade 8 steel, but same 3/8in x 6in long. I definately trust those.

I like the looks of tree hopper. Especially the textured ones. Pretty handy looking set up for ounce counters

Definately a safer more confident way to go. I preset about all my spots. On private land, with permission, I leave the bolts in. They have threads and can be backed out with vice grips at a later date.
If you intend to pull the bolts out each hunt you can probably predrill in the late spring or summer and still be able to insert MOST bolts without having to redrill. But you kind if have to have the hand drill with you for when you do.
Review the thread vtbow linked.

While on subject of lightweight fasteners, anyone have a supplier for titanium they are happy with?

12 of the steel bolts are only 3 pounds or so if I recall correctly. Seems like an unnecessary risk to use the carbon ones.

......I'm sorry...is that $10 EACH rod?

Compared to 50 Grade 8 for $40?

If I show these to my wife.

There is a better chance of my wife sticking that rod up my a$$ instead of me using 5 of them for a ROS...
