Carmelized Cabbage & Bacon

Gents,

Here is a real simple recipe. This can be a side dish or a main meal. It is fairly healthy and keto friendly.

1 head of cabbage chopped
1 onion chopped
1-1.5 lbs of bacon
2-3 cloves of garlic crushed or chopped.
Salt & Pepper to taste

cook your bacon until it is crisp.
while that is cooking chop up the cabbage.

remove the bacon and set aside. Then crumble

Pour off most of the bacon fat. Leave several table spoons in the frying pan. In goes your garlic and onion.

about 7-8 minutes later in goes the cabbage. The cabbage takes a while to cook down. Keep the onions and cabbage on medium to medium high heat. It will take 30 - 45 minutes for them give up the water and caramelizing will begin. Watch your heat at this point as it easy to burn.Stirring every so often. Stir in the crumbled bacon

Serve and enjoy
