Hey all figuring out what will be best/easier. Climbing with my pack on and platform in it or climbing with my pack and bow on the ground? My thought it leaving both on ground i the. Need to pull them up most likely separately? Also contemplating getting a 3D printed hanger for my saddle to hang my mission from so it’s easier to access as I get to hunting height if I decide to climb with my bag on….thanks!! Fire away

I have been a leave it all on the ground sort of guy for the past couple years.
I climb and get established in the tree (tether, gear hanger device, etc) then lower my haul rope for my weapon, then send it down again for my pack. I have a coated wire on my bow and pack that I use to 'hook' my haul rope to in order to hoist them into the tree.

I have reflective tape on the haul rope hook and some different colored reflective tape on the coated wire so I know what is what in the dark. A small headlamp with red lens is more than enough to see what is going on down there on the ground.

Seems like a slightly safer option for me when climbing and really doesn't take all that long.

Not sure what I’ll do. When I stand hunted I always pulled up. But now I don’t know. It’s a whole new world.

I prefer to leave my bow on the ground, but bring my pack up with me. I find it easier, but it also ensures I have access to my backup safety equipment (e.g., a knife to cut myself loose if I fell and got caught on something) in case I drop or can't access the safety gear I keep in my pockets/on my person.

If you have any d-ring grimlocks you could try that for your platform on the back of your saddle. Just tie a piece of paracord on your platform and click it in. That’s what I do with my predator. I wear my pack up.

I have a reel type bow retriever attached to my pack. Since it's mostly empty by the time I'm ready to start climbing, it weighs next to nothing. I clip the retriever to my bow and climb wearing my pack. Once situated, I hang my pack and pull up my bow.

I climb with the pack on and my platform lashed on the back in a way where I can grab it with pack on. I get set then just pull up my bow. It's great.

I use the Eberlestock X2 pack to carry my sticks (4) and my platform (TL Mission or this year the Cruzr Seeker) to the tree. I carry my bow in hand (PSE Carbon Mach 1). Once at the tree, I put two sticks on my saddle (one on left and one on right) then put the platform in the middle back of saddle. I then put my bow where the platform and sticks were so everything comes up and down at once with no string/cable management issues. This is obviously pack dependent. I could not or would not do this with some packs that lack the straps and buckles the X2 configuration has. Hope this helps.

i wear the pack and platform and pull the bow up with the same cord i use to retrieve my repel line. leaving both on the ground u have to send a line up and down... not a big deal if youre under all the branches but if have brush in the way could be hard to fish em up

This is what I do. I have a Doyle's gear hoist in a side pocket in my pouch with a grommet hole in the bottom. The Doyle's gets attached to my bow.
If the pack is light it can go up with me. If it's bulky and full of clothes, I'll tie the pack to my rappel rope and leave it on the ground.
Gear hanger strap goes up with me either way. Once that is attached I can bring up my stuff and hang it immediately.

Climb without pack or bow and pull up after climb. I clip my platform to my saddle for the climb. Pack tied to climbing rope and bow tied to pull down cord.

I climb with my pack on & platform strapped to the back. When I get to the top step I either reach behind my back & grab the platform or take off the pack & hang it from the top step
