When I hunt, I usually bring a handgun with me, which is allowed here in SC. I normally carry IWB or OWB. I realized carrying this way would be near impossible in a saddle. How are others carrying while in a saddle that don't get in the way?
Same and put it in my pack immediately before ascending tree.Pocket carry in a cargo pocket of my pants, making sure the leg straps aren’t in the way. There are no dangerous animals where I hunt so I don’t feel the need to pack a big gun

Chest rig or one of the mollie attachment carry’s work real well. My friend carry’s his OWB to the tree and then stores it in his pack from the climb up until he climbs down. When I hunt, I usually bring a handgun with me, which is allowed here in SC. It looks like Hill People Gear has a bino harness that goes on the Pals of their recon chest rigs. If you’re wanting to keep a chest rig.Chest rig for my S & W M&P 2.0 Compact in .40 cal. Have thought about trying a drop leg rig to diminish banging around between the rig and my binos on a Vortex harness
I’m also AIWB all the time. I took me a couple of years after I first got my CCHP to figure out what worked for me. I went through 5 handguns and who knows how many holsters before I found the best solution for me, which is something that I will actually carry all the time. I can climb, hunt, rappel, hike, drive, ride my bike etc without having to change my holster or routine.

Get the Helicon Tex one. It’s better suited for this. I ran it all last year. It’s less expensive. It will easily fit everything you need plus once in your saddle anything you need to get is right there in your workspace so movement is minimal.Has anyone used the Kifaru Steelhead chest rig? It looks like a nice option and I’m thinking I can ditch the dump pouches and have my tether and gear strap in it, while also carrying a pistol. It does look a little bulky though.
