Cheap bow holder for tree strap

Was in homedepot and saw this large cable clamp; I think it was a 1.50 thought I would give it a try. View attachment 16231
Although I do respect your resoucefulness and as someone who has dropped my bow from my tree stand on an out of state hunt and broke my sight housing years ago, I would implore you to remember that you are only as stong as your weakest component. You have some money in that bow and the only thing standing between your bow and 20' of gravity is that hook. Buy once, cry once... buy the qlipter...

I wouldn't be worried about it breaking. I've used a couple of those for work for a while and they don't break very easy. I wouldn't be too worried about the weight of a bow.

Ok found and improved bow holder at Home Depot. Made out of aluminum no plastic and will hook on my strap

What happens to the bow hanger if you pick up the pack? Would it and your bow plummet?

In theory the s binder will not allowed the tag end to slip out
I’m going to add a g hook so I can tighten to the tree and not rely on pack weight

Indeed. However, I am thinking if you pick up the pack, then the strap will slacken around the tree. Maybe that hook on the bow holder stays on, maybe not... doesn't seem worth the risk?

I like your idea for the G-hook. I modified my gear holder that way and it works great!
