I'm looking for a cheap tether and lineman's belt. I know some guys have DIY'd this so I figured I'd see what you guys think the better options are for this.

The cheapest is probably the HSS! I have one I have been using for 2 seasons and it is still not too bad but I switch between this and a homemade one!

Yeah I have an extra HSS actually, looking for something longer though. Need to be able to get around larger trees when I need to.

If that's the case a diy is gonna be your best choice! Alot of guys have bought the $30 muddy tree stand safety line and made several out of that I think it is 30ft long with two purssics!

Muddy lifeline is all I've every used to make tether and lineman's.... Cut it in 2 if u want longer ropes for large diameter trees...

Cheap and life support stuff go together like oil and water.

Spend a little extra on things your life will depend on. Your family will thank you.
Take a safety harness and use that. I have about 5 of them that came with treestands. Cheap and safe as a 150 dollar HSS.
