Pipe and cigar talk

Great tips! Thank you. Yeah I've considered a pipe. In all actuality, think I'd probably like that better. Any recommendations there?
Nope, unfortunately. I haven’t bought a pipe in probably 10+ years, so I’m out of touch. I’d just get one with a filter (or that capability). Ask your local shop about what flavored tobacco blends they recommend for a newbie, and they’ll likely set you up right.

See... thank you for that! I think you're exactly right. Moderation. 9 years ago I ended 13 years of smoking 1.75 packs of cigarettes a day. I was a slave to them. Took me a LOOOOOONG time and a great deal of prayer to put that down.

Like I said though, this is a once a month thing. It's centered around dudes getting together and talking through life. :)
Congrats to you for quitting. 22 years for me and I was at about 2 packs a day when I quit 20 years ago. Took me about 20 tries before I was successful. One of the hardest habits in the world to quit.

Drew Estate is my favorite. The Natural Dirt Topedo is by far the best IMO. I haven't had the one you mentioned but I will add it to the list.

Humidors can be found pretty cheaply on Etsy if you are looking for a birthday or christmas gift too. My friend got us one for being his groomsmen.
I've even seen some on FB marketplace.

Another recommendation for the rocky Patel '99. Inexpensive, smooth, novice cigar. If you can make the time then I would go to the cigar ship to speak with someone well informed. In my experience they are always willing to help a you walk out with something you'll enjoy and offer more information then you need.

Ok officianatos! My Deadwoods just showed up with a card that reads: "Your cigars have been on a long journey, give them time to rest. We recommend giving your cigars at least 3 days to rest in your humidor before lighting them up. This gives them time to reach your optimal humidity after shipping."

They are individually wrapped in cellophane. Should I leave them in their wrappers and put them into the container with a Boveda packet? Or do I open each individual wrapper and put them into the container?

And can I mix my "trash cigars" with the new ones in a humidor (acrylic jar in my case) or will they all end up tasting the same?

Leaving them in the wrappers is fine. They breathe the same. Mixing your cigars won’t be an issue either.

Leave them wrapped, it protects the wrappers from being damaged.

Ave Maria is one of my favorite lines. I’m a maduro shade wrapper fan, but their Immaculata in a robusto size is one of the best Connecticut wrappered cigars I’ve had. A Brickhouse maduro is a good stick also. I’m not that picky with my cigars, but I really enjoy the premiums.

Do you like BBQ, as well as the smell of bbq smoke? Try a couple Kentucky Fire Cured Cigar's by Drew Estates. Has the smell and taste of good bbq smoke, as they smoke the tobacco leaves as they are drying. A very different but cool flavor! Also goes well with bourbon!!!!

I have a Xikar 5 cigar travel humidor and use 72% Boveda Moisture packs with a Boveda bluetooth Hygrometer. I'm partial to anything Fuente...but lately these Connecticuts from CLE have really been a great smoke.
