Climbing question for seasoned Saddle users

I have recently been diagnosed with a connective tissue disease. Just think of arthritis flaring up when your joints are stretched and a pain level of 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.
I'm currently trying out the one stick method, which I like. However, I haven't gotten up the nerve to rappel back down. So I am one sticking back down which takes FOREVER and I find I am using my arms more on the way down then I do going up. Needless to say after climbing down I hurt so bad. So, I decided to make Three short climbing sticks and use a removable three step aider. Thinking that it would be easier on me to just hang the sticks and climb. Wow I was wrong. It was much harder on my elbows because I seem to have a death grip on the tree as I was moving my linemans belt up the tree and pulling myself up to the next step. Is there anything I can do to help myself out and make the climb easier? I also like using a three step aider and my short DIY one stick. I only want to get around the 20 feet mark when at hunting height. I have no issues with one sticking up. But my aider design seems a little flawed almost like Im on the balls of my feet when climbing and I would prefer for it to be in the arch of my foot or in the groove of my boot by the heel. I'm all about saving money and making it if I can. Should I just put on my big boy pants and learn to rappel down?

If presetting is possible, going up SRT would be easier on the body when using a rope walking system.

not sure of how to preset for srt or if its something i want to do on public land. the closest places to me to hunt get a lot of traffic. so staying mobile is the best practice for me.

Long loop of paracord that allows you to pull your rope up into the tree.

I just did a little bit of research on SRT. While it looks pretty easy and straight forward I'm left wondering how much strain you put on your elbow as you stand up and pull down at the same time? My medical condition affects my elbows the most. This seems like it would cause a lot of pain for me and needing to take pain meds while trying to climb is something I want to avoid.

What about the 2 tether climbing method?
I just came here to say this. Done correctly, it's simply a matter of standing up and sitting down. Both tethers are also more or less in front of you so you don't need to reach up high or down low.

The pulling is really just to take the slack out of the rope and advance the progress capture device. Your leg should be doing all (or 99.99%) of the work as you stand up.

Done correctly your arms are only used to keep you upright, as close to the rope as possible, as stated before, there is no sit-standing, you are upright while climbing. A webbing sling twisted into a figure eight and a carabiner can used as a chest harness to stay more vertical, this position also is the most efficient. A tender can be attached to the chest harness also to bring the hitch up with you automatically.
An ascender, hand is best, with a long footloop for one foot , and a foot ascender for the other is the simplest ropewalker system.

Yea ill send it to you. I climb pretty high, soo the 30 footer I have ain't long enough. I was gonna make some tethers out of it but it's way to nice of a rope to chop up...

I started with an autoblock but ditched it after I 'invented' my new way of being able to stop my descent hands free with the figure eight.

PM me your address or cell number.

@Schemeecho , type in 'Figure of eight progress capture' in the search thingy up top...
I asked if anyone had ever seen it done this way before.

I’m interested in how you use the figure 8 without a backup do you mind sharing more details ?
