Climbing stick camo idea

Some “after season boredom” gave me an idea to add texture to climbing sticks to more resemble tree bark. I'm sure deer could care less but I thought it would look cool. Maybe some of you super creative guys could improve on the the concept (forgive me if the method already exists).
I had some marine tex (sand-able boat epoxy) that I layered on and spackeled to make raised points. I sanded it lightly and added different layers of paint. I’ll add some pics of it on a tree tomorrow.

Not sure what you mean by "need to work on the pattern". Those look great to me.
Yeah I agree... Pattern is just fine. Doesn't need any tweaking.

Blends in great already, but...

If you wanted to take it to the next level, a silicone press mold can be made from the tree bark you wish to pattern. They sell putty style silicone (like easy mold) at craft supply stores, or tube silicone (not GE brand) with a dab of acrylic paint mixed in might do. (You may need a release for that (like thinned Vaseline).)

That is really cool! I agree that there isn’t much left to improve but I get that you’re having fun with it.

That sounds like a cool concept! I’ve seen some really creative things posted from all the diy guys. I hope some take these ideas and run with em to make some amazing camo. Be cool to see different tales posted here.
