Cold Weather: Puffy Vs Sanctuary/Incinerator

One thing to consider with down products is when compressed they will lose their ability to retain warmth. I got rid of a pair Kuiu puffy pants because by the time I had my saddle, knee pads, and rubber boots on, there was very little area not compressed.

I don't know about in conjunction with the saddle, because this is my first year with the saddle; but the First Lite Sanctuary set is freakin' awesome! I wear it anytime the temp dips below 20F. I also have a puffy vest/jacket/bib setup from Badlands, and it is awesome to increase warmth as a mid-layer! Compressing will cause it to lose its insulating properties though... When it's that cold, I usually would just stand on my stand platform. My hang up always has been my hands and feet before anything else gets cold, but I've figured it out the past few years.

Puffies are awesome, I've been using a Kuiu Kenai since 2015 and it goes everywhere with me. Hard to go wrong with any of the offerings from the major companies, don't overlook Cabela's store brand gear too. It's high quality and a good bit less expensive
