Community Stick (Whos holding my stick?)

Well finally had some decent weather and took a break from new house to do list.

I will start with negatives for me (and these really have nothing to do with the stick itself):

I’ve now learned amsteel is not something I want on my stick especially the the daisy chain and button method. Loops kept hitting in the wrong spot and I ended up just do the rope mode tie off method. I also like more of an aider than the thin amsteel. Like jaybo mentioned a double step aider (out of webbing??) would of been a little more comfortable for me.

Now for the positives which is the entire stick itself. It’s awesome!! Pic is of my muddy pro and the stick size comparison. I have a sling pack for early season and this stick would fit perfectly on that thing and never notice it was there. The top wire hand grab is definitely necessary and worked great for reaching down to pull the stick up. I think slapping a platform on top would make it next level.... and of course always89y has already done that on his other one.

The stick is so light, compact, and functional. If I go this route and replace my muddy stick I would change to a cam cleat, different aider, and slap a Scout on the top probably.

I will PM the next person and send it out tomorrow. Thanks again always89y for sharing. I’ve got measurements and a list of parts I would need. Now to find the money!

couldnt agreee more about the amsteel daisy chain. Ive never been a fan of that system for long sticks, and couldnt get used to it for a short. Lots of guys (overwhelming majority) seem to like it. Also, the tradeoff with the cam cleat is the lack of rating, which I am fine with!

My final version does use a double step aider vs the amsteel aider. There is certainly a weight trade off (especially with the spreader bar on top) but well worth the gains in my opinion.

Skip me. I’m in bathroom remodel.
