Concerns of EHD or CWD in your area?

Have any of you found EHD or even CWD to be prevalent in your area? I am in a area where CWD has been claimed to be high but I have yet to see a deer affected. Just curious how this has affected everyone's hunting.

EHD is hitting hard around here. This was just on the news this morning...

Kayaker found almost 2 dozen dead on a weekend float. Thats a county SW of me within a half hour.
Time will tell on the impact to hunting...our season doesn't open until Oct. 1.

So sad, I hope it isn't 2012 all over again for you guys.

My brother is from Iowa and I know there is concern that this will be a bad year for EHD. He's from Soutn Central.

We have some nearby CWD historically, but our DNR has been pretty hard-hitting on stopping its spread since the first outbreaks in neighboring PA, MD, and VA. No cases found in DE since they started testing in 2002. We do have restrictions on transportation of whole carcasses from neighboring states.

EHD is hitting Indiana this year. I don't have a good sense of severity relative to prior years and I haven't seen anything personally, but there also aren't any significant bodies of water on my hunting locations.

We don't have CWD yet that anyone knows of. However, there is no mandatory testing and it is present nearby.

There are no CWD cases yet in my zone but every year the effected area in Arkansas has been increasing. I’m sure my area will be included with 2 more years.

Interesting info... Michigan this year banned baiting and feeding. Time will tell if this well help control our CWD cases. Seems like targeted harvest has worked in some areas? Very sad to see and reminds us that #natureismetal
