Good morning saddle hunters,

I have been obsessed with consuming as much information as possible on saddle hunting lately. I am definitely going to give it a try in the 2020 season.

Here is a little about me. I just retired from the Air Force after 23 years. I just settled into my forever home in the Pensacola, Florida area. I grew up in Alabama chasing whitetails and was lucky enough to continue hunting most of the places I was stationed.

I am currently trying to find a hunting club in the area and one in lower Alabama.

I look forward to interacting with all of you. I have already learned so much from this forum.

You have lots and lots of public land opportunities right close....welcome from the right coast

Thanks! I have some friends that hunt some public near me. There is a group leasing some timber land behind my house. I hope to get in with them so I can literally walk out my back door.

I've already purchased some hawk helium steps. I snagged them for 99 bucks. Now I am just waiting on my saddle. I am torn between tethrd or kestrel. Either way I am waiting for the new tethrd to be released before I decide.

I am still undecided on my platform as well. I am stuck between the tethrd or the ridge runner. I want to start with a small platform first before trying more minimalist.
