Crash and Burn

Your great country was built upon freedom of expression which is being suppressed in Canada and the USA today. So I agree with you Huck. Another thing that is lacking in discussions in both countries is a lack of gentlemanly conduct. Or respect. My father in law used to say... everyone is entitled to their own ridiculous opinion.
So far we have disagreed sometimes and acted like gentlemen always. That is the difference on this site.

Oh and Huck you are correct that eternity is too long to be wrong. IMO
I completely agree with you.

That being said everyone, do not let this become a political discussion or I will cut it off. The unofficial rules on this site are: no politics, no religion, be respectful to everyone. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but when those topics are discussed strong disagreements usually come out.

I think about the points @swampsnyper has made everyday. There were several forums that i was on two in particular that were geared solely in my state. I have since taken a back seat to those because of the political garbage that seems to find its way in. Everyone is entitled to view points and opinions but we are a community that should focus on the title of this wonderful forum. I think @redsquirrel has done a phenomenal job at advancing this community while keeping it foundationally true to the beginning. I know @g2outdoors has also played a role in this and he should get some credit too. In fact all the guys on here have been truly great and i reference many throughout my days talking hunting with people I run into. There are not many saddlers here in CT but I like to think of myself as an ambassador for saddle hunting here and wish we all could just form our own town or something lol!! One giant saddle hunting town. Thank you to everyone who helps keep this site a happy fun place to be, to those who have evolutionized this platform for hunting. This site has transformed my life and made me not only a better hunter but i would say a better person!! Thank you

A diesel performance site I lived in for years was great. Met a lot of great guys and we all worked together gaining knowledge. Then one guy got on their and wrecked the whole thing. He was a friend of the site moderator and he just let it go. Now it's a desolate wasteland. Most guys shifted into bookface. I hate bookface so that ended that. I'd hate to see that happen here. I don't mind arguing or a disagreement as long as it's gentlemanly and productive.

I don't have anything to compare to, as this is the first forum that I have ever joined. As a newbie to the saddle and forum's, if my etiquette is ever lacking, I hope to get called out. This place has changed the way I look at hunting, problem solving, and life as a whole. The more time I spend here the more I see that this site is made up of a bunch of positive people who really care about helping each other out. I'm proud to be allowed to be a part of it and can only hope the be a positive addition.

I am looking forward to the off season again on this site when a bunch of guys go off the deep end and come up with all sorts of new crazy ideas.

BTW, what do we need to improve upon, or is there some new challenge we need to take on? :) One idea is to come up with an easy way to pee. I really hope nobody was out there watching me when I was standing one legged, sideways, stretched out and the other leg dangling. That video would have been a youtube sensation.

I know that personally I have to invest in a thread injector so I can keep up with the mods.

Last summer was over the top fun on this site.

Would love to see an ultra lite backpack designed specifically for saddle hunting to quietly hold up to 4 sticks and a platform with adjustable quick release straps.

It's simpler than that. Just hook up your lineman's belt again so you can stand vertically like you do any other time.

This is how I do it from the saddle.

Bahahaha...

I have just recently found this site and just ordered my first saddle yesterday because of @g2outdoors so thanks for that. I feel like Greg needs a shirt that says "Your wife hates me." To be clear its more of a love hate. Loves that I am going to be out of her hair figuring out how to sew and tie knots but hate because we are now broke.

Back on topic I love that this site, like ArcheryTalk a few years back, is soooo helpful with people that love to figure things out and make things better, safer, and easier to hunt. I love the DIY part about not only this site but saddle hunting. Now I have not even been in a saddle but it feels like it will be the same feeling going from gun hunting whitetails to archery hunting whitetails. Putting in the work to harvest your animal is way more rewarding.

Like Greg stated before I have had posts written out that I deleted because they felt to confrontational and I didn't want to down that rabbit hole. You would like to think there is a happy medium but unfortunately there really isn't, threads get derailed way to fast. Before I found this site Archery Talk was open on my computer at all times and now I haven't even opened up AT in almost 2 weeks. Thanks for that I feel like I am a happier person for that....Weird
