Cruzr climbing sticks

This is probably one of the things I’m looking forward to most this year! Not much I’m gonna change this year in my setup. My sticks are the main thing I may change. Please hurry cruzr. Take my money lol

I am not a fan of sticks:sweatsmile:
But I do use them occasionally
I agree with you, I don't care for packing sticks, but I need options.
I always think back to the last difficult hunt. In Iowa 2019, two mornings at 16, one at 6 and several below 32. Sticks may be the best way to climb under these conditions.
I am open to them taking some of my money, but they are going to have to be great.
And I am going to let some of you guys' field test them for me, LOL.
I compare every stick to the Novix mini single step at 1.4 Lbs. each. I have used the full-length version for years with no issues.

Sorry you had a bad experience, my two brothers and I had no issues whatsoever. We only hunt 4 different states a year from September through February with no issues. But my younger brother is a smaller fella he’s only 6’2” 260 pounds and hunted probably 90 days last year and had no problems with the tethrd one sticks, but go ahead and keep hating…
Not everyone has had the positive experiences you had and not everyone has had the negative experiences he’s had. Lots of people love the hawk heliums, however one of mine bent the 4th time I ever used it. If I state that publicly does that mean I am hating? I’m a smaller fella as well at 6’3” and 230 lbs

Yes ,but to say that they are trash??? Just because some of you guys don’t like Tethrd doesn’t mean they make nothing but trash.
I totally agree. They make a lot of great products and they intelligently market them. For the record I don’t think the heliums are trash, and the Tethrd ones and skeletors I tried were both awesome. But again everyone has different experiences. Anyway don’t wanna off track this thread any further. I think all of us are eager to see what Cruzr comes up with because their other products have been excellent

The only issue I’ve seen is the stacking pins breaking, or the glue bond not holding. But I’ve never had the stick break. Not sure what you guys mean when you say the sticks broke?

It seemed like they had issues before the current presidency too.

At least we have pictures of them, lol. We've got at least 3 sticks announced this year with no photos, including the Cruzrs headlining this thread.

Make sure you send your money in for pre order to every company so then you can be first to complain about supply chain issues, delays, horrible customer service, improper weight advertisement, horrible stacking, not being quiet enough, requiring assembly, not actually being exactly 20 inches, no cable aider attachment point, not biting into the tree enough, not being camouflage, being the wrong camouflage, shipping and handling, not returning your emails, scaring deer away due to offset and whatever else I forgot.

Com'on now. One of these new offerings gonna buck the trend, but you gotta act now and reserve your sets.

I wouldn't worry about camouflage, they all invisible.

While I like giving feedback to the various vendors that support our style of hunting, I don’t like the bashing. To me it stinks of one vendor acolyte bashing another vendor.(true or not IMHO)
Now having said that, if we listen to what the consumers of these products are saying..there are some points that these vendors need to listen to.
1) your advertised weight is not correct.stop lying.
2) it takes too long to get your product.
3) r and d needs to improve.
4) you need to do a better job making your products available.
If the companies that support our hunting style, refuse to listen…then hopefully their replacements will listen.

one thing we could do is start a section of failures/reviews where we can see issues (pictures required) and a summary of what happened. Not as advertised, here is the proof. Stand off breaks, here is the proof. No opinion, just the facts..and consumers will decided what’s acceptable.

I got a e mail. Cruzr is going to be at the TN. Outdoor Rendezuous this weekend.
Not sure if they will show or talk about the new sticks.
Is anyone going to this show?

Edit, got a call back from Cruzr. No sticks at show. All I could get was 18" step spacing, about 1Lb. Super packable and when they come out, lots of production.

As @GCTerpfan stated above, this is a thread about Cruzr Climbing Sticks. At this point we all get there are Tethrd haters and fanboys out there but for the 90% that don't necessarily fall into either of those categories please don't clutter up the other unrelated threads with the BS, Thanks!

Edit: If this doesn't make sense in the context you see it, it's because the thread has been cleaned up considerably (i.e. posts deleted).

I don’t have any inside knowledge, I just know I have suggested a few times that platforms and sticks could be made from those materials since they are often used in harsher marine environments. The normal is someone with more financial resources will take that idea and bring it to fruition. I am looking forward to seeing whatever it is that he has come up with. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it is literally this exact material type. In my opinion though the standoffs would still need to be some sort of metal as carbon fiber and fiber glass laminate will both be damaged with repeated wear and tear against tree bark.

I know a guy who switched to FRP/GRP grating awhile ago for his homemade hang-ons. The hunting industry isn't exactly tip of the spear most of the time. Every so often there's something I'm blown away by. I wish that happened more often.

I think "well executed" is good enough to command premium dollars when it comes to hunting gear, but well advertised seems to be all the rage.

Um, Cruzr, um...

It is amazing how quality marketing out sells quality gear. I think fiberglass reinforced plastics are great especially with how strong glass can be made when combined with epoxy…. We stand on boat decks and drive them 40 mph across choppy bays with a 400 lbs motor hanging on the back… I’d love for someone to explain to me how our intended use would ever be as harsh as maritime use

So you would rather have a well made $200 dollar fiberglass/hybrid type platform over a $700 carbon fiber?

The fiberglass one could carry an electrical rating for hunting the power lines ......

He was an engineer and plant manager. Extremely safety conscious.

If Oil Platforms use this decking, got my attention.
