Cruzr Mini Seeker platform?

Those casts look awful. I’d want a refund fellas.

I decided to email CS this afternoon and asked for a prepaid return label to return for refund. Talked to another friend who has one with casting issues similar to mine and their post isn’t square. Not sure what’s up with these but I’m not impressed. Hopefully it’s just a bad batch.

Seems like their 2022 game changer is just a ripped off worse version of the most sold saddle platform ever

I’m going to turn around and sell my mini seeker. It’s not pitted enough that I’d worry about using it/feel bad for selling to someone. Just wasn’t the quality I was expecting

I could do that too I suppose, I just refuse to take a loss on it. If I used it for 6 months sure, but not when it’s brand new.

I painted mine up last night and using it on my Kentucky trip next week. Mine has some imperfections, but I don’t see it hurting the functionality of it. I’d definitely like for it to look better, but the deer won’t ever know it…

Did you hear back from them?

I received mine today. Although it’s not perfect, it’s not as bad as a few pictured here. I think it’s usable. Not something I would expect for the price. I do like the weight. The casting appears to be done in a sand mold, but I’m not certain of that. It’s not nearly as refined as XOPs or Trophylines platform casting.

I’m tempted to file some of the burrs on a few edges and paint.

Nothing. Phone calls proved useless as well. It’s the busiest time of year so I know it won’t be instant. I’ll try again to call next week.

Another friend I have did get ahold of them on the phone after emails back and forth went nowhere. He said the agent on the phone he spoke with didn’t sound surprised that it was issues with the mini. Sounds like they’ve had a decent amount of contact about it. I’m not surprised after the sample size seen here.

Yea, it’s the busy season. I hope a rush to market hasn’t compromised quality. Although I care about cosmetic quality, it’s Structural quality that would be most concerning. I put mine on a tree to test it. I’m 6’2” and 240lbs and It seems to be holding but I wonder about the cast versa button.

My thoughts on the platform are as follows. Some are personal preference.

The quality could be better, but as long as it doesn’t effect durability, I can live with that.. It seems a little rough on the outside, so I hope it doesn’t beat my pack up. Paracord wrap should help with that. I have had a squeak/creek come from it on more than one occasion, potentially some user error, or it’s in need of some bow wax. I dislike the angle, I feel too far from the tree, but I’m a small guy. I’d prefer just a flat platform. The standoff, when bolted to the post, has play in it. I hate platforms made like that, give me a solid standoff like most climbing sticks. I need to weigh it still, but I don’t think it feels too bad. I assume close to the advertised weight if I had to guess. I wear a size 9 boot, and feel like I almost have all the room I need, but I lose some with the angled edge.

I’ll update this when I check the weight or if think of anything else.

Pitting like is being shown in many of the pics is more than just a cosmetic problem. It creates weak spots and areas for cracks to form and worsen over time. Also keep in mind that the pits on the surfaces are just the ones you can see. If there is pitting on the surface, there is likely more pitting contained in the structure that is not visible. This structure which contains pits was also designed to be as light weight as possible, so right from the start the design was about as weak as the engineering would allow in order to also meet that 300 lb weight rating. Add the pitting into that fragile design and it's a crack waiting to happen. Just my thoughts. We all manage our own safety. But if it were me, it would be going back to manufacturer real quick.

Thanks for the insight @Mschmeiske . Interesting that you don't like the angled portion. I thought that bit was pretty slick for a leaner. I was considering getting the mini seeker when one inevitably gets posted here this winter. I'm also a smaller guy with size 9 boots. I don't need a ton of space (or the extra couple of pounds).

No problem man! Goodluck this season. I feel like it pushes me farther away from the tree than I want to be and it would pack slightly better without. I personally don’t see the use in it, but that’s just me!

Facing away from the tree on the mini. Size 11 boots.

Anyone get an accurate weight on these without the strap?
