Curious if cold weather jackets or or cold weather stuff affects one's bridge, saddle, tether, etc. functioning in the tree while saddle hunting??

Not sure if my title makes sense, but pretty much all saddle content on line will show guys using their saddles in t-shirts or a lite pullover. Long time hunter but I am new to the game of saddle hunting and wanted to see if some of you seasoned pros can offer any tips or thoughts about how a heavier jacket/or a series of layers plus a jacket works out with a saddle/bridge and a tether connected in a tree. Do you wear your saddle under your outer layers, or do you put it all on and and wear the saddle over all your layers? Also wonder how much the bulk of a good cold weather jacket affects the saddle/bridge/tether connection being user friendly as far as sitting and leaning? Just curious and maybe it really is just about as usable as when dressed in a single layer like a t-shirt or single long sleeve shirt. Just have thought about that a lot, and wanted to get some feedback including how hard is it to take off layers or add in a tree when one is all hooked up to the tree. I have looked and looked trying to find some content on you tube where folks discuss this, but have not found anything, but am sure someone has addressed this question at some point.

I wear my saddle over my outer layers. I've never had any problem taking off or putting on a jacket or top layer in the saddle. Pants and bottom layers can't be safely taken off or put on once you're in the saddle at height in my opinion, all other things equal.

The only scenario I could envision thick layers really being a problem would be some odd angles for a shot with a bow from the saddle. The added bulk could potentially get in the way as you're rotating around.

That makes sense, and it just seems that the front bottom of the jacket(s) or other layers would affect the bridge and tether if those items went on last, but if you wear the saddle over all your layers, then it would seem that there is no way to address that in the tree without either having a good bit of slack in the connection or either not being connected to the tree at all briefly in the hang while either adding or taking off layers. I may have that all wrong in my thinking and This may not even be a factor and take care of itself once I get to a 25 degree morning, but when considering safety, I did not think it was a stupid question to ask. Thanks for the reply CZMark.

this is the one advantage to a platform that I really see. And it’s only an advantage with the oversized platforms. You can stand up, unweight your tether, and get to tucking. Adding pants exposes you to a little more risk.

I have no trouble adding upper layers with any saddle setup and I typically use ring of steps. And I always put all pants I’ll be wearing on the ground.

climb slow and don’t sweat.

also, free advice to all outdoor pant makers. Make every single pant fully zip on the sides. Thanks.

100% on point, especially the full length zipper on pants. Easy on and off, no taking off boots. Why don't all outdoor clothing companies do this?
