So I'm curious as to how everyone sets up once in the tree(where bow, pack, jacket, things like that are positioned.. Also how the heck are people adding layers and rain gear while in the tree, ever since I've red Eberhart's books that has puzzled me!

I'm right handed so I'll start there...

Bow hanger goes on left hand side of tree, keeping it arms length or an easy grab depending on the tree.

On the right is another small gear hanger for a back pack. I set this about shoulder height as you don't want it too high or too low. You want easy access to your pack if needed. I also place the pack hanger slightly forward on the tree so it's a bit on the blind side and keeps it out of the way.

When I'm strapped in and need to add a top layer I will hookup my linemans belt and snug up closer to the tree. With a little care you can take your arms out of your shell layer and drape it down over your saddle at the hips. Add top layers and worm into them as needed. You will probably need to shuck and jive slightly and loosen saddle to tuck in too layers.

As for legs... well I don't know how you'd do that while in the tree with a saddle. My best suggestion is if you think there is inclement weather in the forecast then put your leg layers on before you ascend while at the base of your tree.

I'll see if I can dig up some pics...

I haven't gotten in the tree yet to practice with my current setup, but here goes.

I have a camera arm with a hook on the base for my backpack (plastic S biner in pic below) . I'll get to height, tether in, screw in my bow hook on 9 o'clock side of tree. I'll hang my pack there, take off my platform and set up. I'll swing onto platform and get adjusted and comfy. Then i'll take camera arm off pack and strap to 3 o'clock position on tree. I'll hook my pack onto the camera arm base, and pull my bow up and onto bow hook. Toss the accessories I use regularly on the hooks on the strap and i'm good to go. All sounds good on paper haha can't wait to give it a go on a treecameraarm1.jpg

@kyler1945, is that a tree in your living room??? Now that is dedication!!! You must have an understanding wife! :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

that looks like a foam roller!
Nailed it. I have a cool girlfriend. But all my crap stays at my house. She'd probably stroke out if she had to stare at all my hunting fishing gear and woodworking equipment.

Foam roller helps keep me loose for monkeying around trees!
