Custom knives

I did a total injustice to Mr beards knife and made 1 outta PVC pipe. Looks like crap but works real good. I don't carry it out hunting.......stays in the truck till its neededScreenshot_20230522-145104~2.png

I thought they were just ceremonial knives or for looks. It’s nice to see y’all use them for knife stuff. What kind of sheaths are some of y’all carrying them in?

No pics but, I stole a sheath from an old knife I never use. It happened to fit like a glove.

kyleatherandhides on Etsy makes some nice leather sheaths that are pretty affordable ($12-15). The 6" would prolly work good with the mora blades. RKLeatherworks makes some nice ones too for a few bucks more.

I re-located an old BK-11 (Becker necker) in my drawer of knives the other day and I took a liking to it after reshaping the blade. Handy little knife. Sanded up and fitted some mahogany scales for it. Turned out real nice.

Original BK-11:

Aftermarket scales I bought for it years ago. They were terribly thick. Through them and the knife in a drawer because the whole combo stunk.

This is it after I re-located it, decided to give it a second chance, and worked it over:

Then the other, other day a buddy offered me some caribou so I thought I'd do a test run out of whitetail discards first. I've never done scales out of antler so this has been a first.

Felt pretty defeated when I finally laid this thing down last night at 0130. The process was fun but the scales just didn't turn out like I hoped they would.

Took some time this afternoon and gave it a second hoorah. Removed the brick colored filler material, sanded a bit more, and it ended up turning out perfect! Much slimmer in the hand now. Even addressed the sad hardware @Weldabeast pointed out ;)
