Silvio hope you’re doing well my friend! How did these sticks work out for you so far this year. I’m really looking to cut some weight on my climbing method for next year and you inspired me to maybe take on a project like you did here for my future hunting season. Carrying 5 lone wolf custom sticks now is a bear let alone a pain to set up all 5 plus my ring of steps. Need some simplicity in my system as well as weight reduction.

Hi Chris,
Really they have been awesome so far. I've made a couple of tweaks and I only carry three sticks that each have a 1 step aider. I put them thru the paces first wk of October in Iowa. I'm heading back tomorrow for 9 days. I have some sticks I'm working on for the future...I'll call u when I get back and will hook up

Yeah definitely give me a call when you get back! I’d like to catch up and talk about hunting and gear.

Silvio,
Man I seen this mod and new I had to try my hand at it. Tho I’m trying to make the foot cleat and tree cleat rotate flat for stacking.

Question did you press the Allen head bolt into the tree cleat? If not how are you holding it when you tightening/loosening the knob?

I thought milling out a slot to fit the hexhead bolt to hold it in place when tightening/loosening the knob. So it as to be completely tool-less.

Talking with my brother the other day and was discussing the possibility of expandable sticks. Think that the stick could have 3 steps and have the bottom step slide down. So, @Silvio and @DanO have you looked into the possibility of having the stick expand for use and compact for travel?

Yes, I have made such an animal this past summer I used in conjunction with WE steps. I ended up using a one step aider. My system this year was basically prepping my sets with three we steps set at approximately twenty feet high and walk in with my three custom sticks. I will say the ideas never end for me...I personally had so much fun this past year making and testing different climbing methods. Still working on new stuff for nxt season

I grounded the hex corners round and used a friction washer underneath the help the head from rotating although I made sure the bolt heads fit tight

That’s Very similar to what I was thinking. Haven’t tried it yet but was gonna use something to wedge the head in the tree cleat. Have you considered some sort of spring under the knob to hold tension on the assembly? Kinda like what’ve seen in the out on a limb sticks that just came out at ATA.
Think that’s what I’m gonna try with my sticks
Our season ends in a few days so I’ll be messing with it soon.

I've been working on several applications...funny how Out of a limb came out out with this idea..."coincidence" well I love sharing ideas but right now I'm going to be selective of what I'm working on....

If it's not obvious that a variety of eyes are watching this forum now, ready to seize ideas for commercial use, I don't know what is. It's fine. No pot stirring intended here. Just a realistic observation.

Frankly, if you weren't intending to take it to market and posted an idea great enough for one of the commercial guys to use then I'd say its a feather in your cap. Congratulations on some true innovation that was good enough to be incorporated into a commercial idea. Great job!

I fully understand and respect that

Yeah I found that a funny “coincidence” too.

Now with deer season over I’ll be able to see why I can come up with

Thanks my friend...I just think these small company's should give credit where credit is do. They are capitalizing on a small niche market and then gouging the crap out of a group like ours. I love this platform and all the bonds I've created over this last year. Let's keep it pure and simple so all of us can share without stealing someone else's ideas.
