Thanks Silvio!Hi Joe, I bought these 1/4" knobs at lowes, but you could also purchase these at Home Depot or Menards...if you dont have one of those stores up there in Gods country try Woodcraft
The standoffs will be able to rotate from perpendicular to horizontal. I'm machining slots for the standoff feet. Once you loosen the knobs and rotate the standoff to the parallel position the sticks can stack flat and tight
Yes absolutelyAre you machining the slots in the back side of the tubing?

It's to keep them as tight together as possible. When you strap these to your back pack less chance for catching on brush and making noiseI was working on the same idea attaching them through the holes side by side. Not sure why having the ability to turn the stand-off is necessary since the double step remains parallel to the ground? Maybe I’m missing something tho.

I like your alumibuttons for sure, but just used what I had for right now.I'll have to check these out in person, looking awesome! But they just look wrong a little with those versa buttons instead of AlumiButtons
Thank you ChrisMan those look great! Nice work Silvio!

I'm not quite understanding what you mean, but I really like to put it into how that would work... not sure I would mill any part of the standoffs thoughWouldn't milling one side edge of each standoff where the sticks stack accoplish the same thing. You would have to alternate sides depending on which stick is in the middle vs. which one is on the edges. It would keep the standoffs from rotating while in use because one side would still come over the tubing, but allow the tubing between stick to but up against one another.
