As with all things, it depends. We know prions attack the CNS, cannot be destroyed through most cooking methods and it has to be assumed that rogue prions travel elsewhere through the body but the report is glaringly void of critical information.
1. How much infected animal meat was fed to the monkeys and for what duration
2. What muscle groups were fed and how was it processed (common knife, cooked or raw, etc)
3. What does "low level infection" even mean? Were the prions merely detected or were there physical damages to the CNS
Not saying the report isn't concerning but there's alot of information missing before I'd say there is a concern.
