How often are you needing to replace your D loop? I've got about 1500 arrows on mine and am seeing a fair amount of wear and plan on replacing it before the season starts. Just wondering if this is normal or if this is an issue with my release.

Camera didn't like to focus this close. Between the 2 frayed areas, there is a noticeable crease. As stated, I'll replace it before the season and am probably just over-analyzing.

looks like it's fraying on one side of the release and not the other. Might check your release and make sure it's smooth. Could just be that one side wears faster, but worth checking.

Oh, and I'd replace it fo sho. No reason not to.

The release I have now (too lazy to check right now) doesn't have a floating (freely rotating head) so I know at full draw the jaws aren't perfectly parallel to the string. As such, I'm sure there's an amount of dragging along the edge of the jaw. I did find the release I was looking for awhile back but my son was with me and needed a new release more than I did.

Damn kids.

I had fraying in hundreds of shots, not thousands, and used 00 steel wool (local hardware store had like 6 grades) to polish my release hook. It's been better since. I don't know what best-case d-loop wear is, but a little polishing probably couldn't hurt after you replace?

Got my new D loop this afternoon. With everything perfectly leveled, it tied about 3/32" lower than the original loop, or just over 1/16" of an inch lower. When I got home, I shot it in my indoor 10y range and was about 2" high and slightly to the left. Adjusted my sight up slightly and got it back to zero. I'll go tomorrow and fine tune 20-30-40 but it's amazing how much a slight difference in nock point it'll make.

I'll reverify the paper tune another day. Only 7 weeks to opener after all.

Sorry, didn't see that you already replaced it!!! Glad to hear that.

Got to the range today to rezero everything. Arrows were hitting high and to the left but once I made the adjustments at 30 yards, my 20 and 40 pins were back to dead-on.
