Also the same phenomenon applies with friction hitches. Test your gear in every possible way before trusting at height...and always have a stopper!Ropeman1 slips demo. Details are in the description.

I was wrong in my post, the Ropeman 1 is rated for 8.9 to 11mm rope. Its printed right on the side of my Ropeman 1.I don't believe the Ropeman 1 is made for that small of diameter rope. I think its rated for no less than 10mm diameter rope. That looks like 7 or at the very most 8mm.
All day everyday. And it removes excess rope from dangling.Daisy chain the tail.
I do the same and tie a stopper knot 6 inches below my ropeman. I don`t think I ever move my tether more than that.I back my Ropeman 1 with a prusik
I also have a prussik above my ropeman on my tether with a stopper knot. When climbing SRT I have a short webbing bridge but also clip my amsteel bridge in the biner as backup. At height I switch to my tether but leave my climbing rope and Grigri attached loosely as backup. Lots of redundancy. Stay safe out there. Not a lot of help in the woods!i have a prussic back up and tie a knot about 6-8 inches from where the ropeman is that way i have some adjustablity
There is nothing dangerous about being a arborist LOl. But on a serious note, you make one mistake and you could be killed. As a arborist I always have a secondary tie in all the time and that leaks over into my saddle hunting also.
